Someone is finding the wall today... The smart money is on Johnson, but I think old age and self preservation will win the day in his case. Grosjean tried mightily yesterday, but again, been there done that will be a factor and I don't think it's him...

I'm going to say Newgarden finds the barriers.

Law of averages suggests Grosjean considering how much he's flirted with it already, so if he continues... crunch.

He was running in traffic though. So the question is, which of these is harder: pushing hard in traffic or running low df/high boost in tricky conditions?

Track is yellow because race control has lost power...

That might be true, I didn't see him on stream

These winds are nuts. It looks utterly terrifying to be out on track right now in general, but especially trimmed out for a qual sim. Everybody has been having to bail out of their attempts after lifting and even braking in turn 3. Wilson and Rossi both just nearly hit the wall coming off turn 2. Speeds are high for a single lap though, Rossi just went 231.8

O'Ward just ran the first full 4 lap run of anybody, with a 231.7 best lap and 230.1 4 lap average, and that's despite having to lift every single lap. He hit 240-242mph at the end of the straights. Wild.

Can't really say I put too much blame on JJ for smacking the wall there. With this wind, it was inevitable that someone was going to do that soon, regardless of being a rookie or a vet.

Marcus Ericsson's 242.4mph trap speed today is the highest since they started recording those in 2009.

Daly telemetry just went 243 just after that but I guess this isn't that official

Yeah, those telemetry numbers aren't quite as accurate I imagine, and they are rounding to a whole number on those as well.

Yeah, I know he's mad and I don't care. I do not care. I did not care then. I do not care now. I'm here to race him.
