Josef Newgarden to test the Charlotte ROVAL on Friday following NASCAR Cup qualifying - this is possibility a test to see if the cars are compatible for a race in the future |

I want to be positive about Indycar's future, and largely I am, but tantilising us with a potential return to Surfers, then saying it's not on the agenda any more and they're targeting Abu Dhabi instead (per the link that mentions surfers) is not a fair deal Ahh, this magical time in the off season where it looks like we'll be running over 30 cars in the next year, only for all the potential new teams/cars to merge with existing operations and if anything we lose a couple. Good times Still, I'm not quite sure why they're trying to throw themselves at a NASCAR roval (unless it is Charlotte on the NASCAR weekend) as there's plenty of other race tracks in america that'll suit the cars way better than a roval Unless they're thinking about Daytona, but I can't see NASCAR ever allowing that, despite them gaining access to the hallowed turf of Indy. But overall, I see Indycar in a more positive place than I have done in.....YEARS Lets hope for some good news stories over the coming months. |

I think IndyCar really wants Surfers to work - but under their current schedule mantra, February at Surfers is never gonna work, and V8's might not be willing to share with IndyCar (however, the night racing format for 2020+ may open doors in my opinion, because while the V8's get to run under lights - running IndyCar at high noon would be the best of both worlds as it works good for the US TV side) |

NASCAR would prefer not to share an oval weekend with Indycar for reasons that should be obvious. ---------------- There isn't actually that much hype for extra cars next year. The only extra car that seems likely is a third RLL car. Presumably a third ASMR car if Wickens is up to it at some point. Dragonspeed want to do more Indycar races to make up for the fewer sportscar races they will do next year. Shank wants to do a full season. The only drivers known to have money are Askew and van Kalmthout. Maybe Markelov can scrounge up some roubles and come over. He'd be good. |

Ganassi is trying really hard to get a 3rd car (or a other IMSA deal, or a deal outside of IndyCar & IMSA) right now, or for a tech partnership with a existing or new team in IndyCar to keep his crew members from the Ford GT sports car team in Indy employed wouldn't be easy as to plug them down in NASCAR as that shop is in Concord |

Mailbag bumbf; -Juncos would like to run van Kalmthout for the full season if a bag full of Jumbo cash turns up at his shop. -O'Ward may be headed back out of the Red Bull programme. -The relationship between Hinch and SPAM has broken down. Robin's belief is still that Hinch will leave 'if Honda can find him a ride'. Also mentions 'another scenario nobody knows about yet'. -Askew 'has something good to announce soon'. |

Honda is a big fan of him so....Red Bull? Anyway, nice article here about the future engine regs https://www.motorsportweek.com/news/id/ ... YS-YGPpGUc Quote: “The biggest part in our opinion is horsepower, so our goal, our stated goal is to get over 900 horsepower. This product will give us at least 50 of that, so we remain true, again, to our DNA. We want to have less downforce but have more horsepower.” Basically, Indycar wants more horsepower and even less DF from future engine/chasis regs And yes, they're going hybrid, but if they're going to increase the HP, personally I couldn't give a shit if they went fully eco-friendly if the cars went faster and raced better. |

ICE power is slated to be around 850 with the spec hybrid platform slated for a extra 50 at the least. The exact type of hybrid is still unknown - according to a report on RACER or Motorsport, Frye said IndyCar is open to all types, i.e: standard battery, flywheel & super capacitor Also it is still shaky if the new chassis is for '22, 2.6TT/HY engine might start out in the DW12 safety cell according to MP in his last Q&A podcast Sent from my Z797C using Tapatalk |

Arrow is extremely pissed at Hinch over the ESPN Magazine feature last month, that & SPM being a Chevy team makes that impossible I think. Doubt that Red Bull wants any part in more programs across American motorsport, especially after the NASCAR program. Hell, they never sponsored Pastrana when he was at Roush despite 199 being a official athlete for the brand. If that wasn't the case then Pato would be in IndyCar full time I'd reckon. I think they are happy to stay in motocross and drifting Gaara wrote: racer612008 wrote: Ian-S wrote: Hinch to retire? ESPN Mag's body issue - I believe the final print for that magazine as a whole. Arrow wanted none of their drivers apart of that (family-centric brand) & apparently one of the logos wasn't blurred on the physical copy side. Jenna Fryer was the first to publicly speak about the matter, the original tweet was deleted but there's several replies about the matter. MP hinted this in his podcast last week as well. Main reason why SPM fired a couple people last week. Sent from my Z797C using Tapatalk |

Dicksplaash wrote: lmao, for real? Yes, apparently (though as mentioned ironically the first scoop seemed to have come from Jenna Fryer, who Robin Miller has had an "issue" with But Miller reporting it probably confirms the "rumor mill", and it seems to have been verified by a couple other sources). This IMHO is strange because the Body magazine isn't exploitative and the actual story for the photoshoot IMHO is pretty good (especially considering how ESPN rarely gives a shit about Indycar unless someone dies in a crash or something). Arrow's basically a second-tier Mouser or Digikey (companies that you get various electronic parts from) so I have no idea why they care, people sourcing their ICs generally speaking aren't going to worry about one of the guys they sponsor doing artistic nudity for good reasons. |
