Wednesday is Mailbag day, with the following disclosed;

-'(T)here are a couple of things I was told in the past few days that really convinced me Hinch will not be at SPAM in 2020 and he will be in a Honda, but I can’t write them yet.'
-More affirmation of the belief that TK will be back for one more season at Foyt.
-SPAM's interest in Daly has cooled.

Yeah, I know he's mad and I don't care. I do not care. I did not care then. I do not care now. I'm here to race him.

looking good, let's hope this doesn't lead to more recklessness from younger drivers

It'll take some getting used to but like the halo eventually you won't notice it all that much. But when it prevents an injury or worse then the debate will be over.

Other than the halo frame center pillar (I know it's needed), I like it

I actually think this is uglier than the halo, but tbh I had no problem with the halo and only a really small problem with this. Both of @

I really hope that this could set a new trend among open wheelers either, but I dunno F1 would pick something from Indycar (although they used wheel tethers after the Australia 2001 fatal accident)

They used tethers since '99 because of that Spa crash.

I approve it. Looks a bit odd to me, at the moment, but I'm waiting for video footage to make up my mind.

That aside, I don't really care if it looks terrible. Anything that can help prevent a serious injury or a fatality, it's fine by me.

I wonder how it could affect the aerodynamics of the car. I'd imagine it creates less drag, the air avoiding the open cockpit/helmet. Greater speeds at Indy?

I was cautiously optimistic that this might not look terrible. Unfortunately it looks, well, terrible. :(

It's adding 50 pounds of weight in a very bad spot, so that's probably going to more than offset any drag reduction.

It looks very bulky and blocky compared to the renders. The upshot is that you can clearly see the driver through the windscreen, so the frame isn't as much in the way as the halo is.

Hopefully there will be room to mould it into a better shape with the new chassis. The cockpit sides won't need to be as high, for starters.

Eh... Not really liking the way that looks but I'll wait until I see it in motion.

Is it quickly removable by the safety team for driver access?

I think the aeroscreen looks pretty good from the side but then looks pretty shit when viewing it from the front.
