With the off season now in full swing, I'd figured it was time for the 2019 silly season thread. As hinted, Steinbrenner is creating a new team with Harding and they will run both Pato O'Ward and Colton Herta next year. https://racer.com/2018/09/19/new-hardin ... -for-2019/ |

What is interesting from that is that they have also partnered with Andretti and they will use Chevys. So that means Andretti will run both Honda and Chevy next year. And where does that leave Fred? |

A nuance that might be important - Chaves is contracted through to the end of next year, so presumably he will be getting a payoff of some description and this will perhaps get him a foot in the door for teams seeking money. |

I would guess by the straps that the machine is doing it, but it sounds like it's a test to see if electricity is passing down the whole of his spinal column. |

Coyne have apparently offered their second seat to Stoffel Vandoorne, who is 'cautiously considering' it. Both of them could do a lot worse. |

I'd like to see what Stoffel can do in a car that's not a shitbox...after being in a shitbox for so long. I really want Pietro in the field next year though. Hoping he gets to partner Hinchcliffe. |

Harding / Steinbrenner in talks with both Chevrolet & Honda. https://racer.com/2018/09/21/both-manuf ... inbrenner/ - Wonder what Honda team would switch over to Chevrolet if this happens? Also wonder if engine numbers have been raised by both manufacturers with the increase in car count - added Driver / Team Chart |

A spare Chevy deal could be exactly what they need now. |

Both manufacturers have increased leases for next year it seems as well, but with more teams joining the fray I'd suspect some open slots would help |
