Wasn't just the month of May? Or just the 500?

Pigot and Kyle Kaiser seems likely at Juncos. If Buddy Lazier's team secures the funding then we have 33.

I believe earlier reports of the Alonso deal had Miles insinuating that between Honda and Indycar itself they would fund Wilson for the season.

I've also had a feeling that he'll be doing a full season in IndyCar sooner rather than later. Next year would be a good time to come in as well with the new/revised aero. Anyway, Fernando coming to Indy is definitely the best thing that's happened in open wheel racing in a long time.

The safety cell itself is spec but not everything on the chassis is (at least that I know of, unsure when the development window started). The box was pretty tight for a while with the DW12 chassis but IndyCar has started working on re-opening up the rules to allow teams to develop some chassis parts over the last year or so again. Engine development by the OEM's is constant.

There is a few different aerokit parts that the teams will use in qualifying & the race. Alot of the small winglets will be removed for qualifying, some teams might only run the pod winglets on the RR for oval races. Not as much at Indy but other tracks like Texas. Depends on weather conditions usually for the amount of downforce they want to trim on the car.

Manufacturers can't make anything new for the aerokits as development is frozen now. They are going back to a single aerokit supplier next year as the costs of the OEM based aerokits got too high for both teams & the OEM's.

Here's the full rulebook (public version)

2 Million viewers when you combine Youtube, Facebook Live, Periscope and the 12 or so people at the track :p

Jenna Fryer, take a plate, pick out a knife and fork, put your words on that plate and tuck in!

I'm saying you should eat your words! Add a bit of humble pie too for desert. And your hat.

Do we have any rumored entries? Where's Stefan Wilson? Townsend Bell? Juncos is apparently going to have two cars, Spencer Pigot being confirmed. Any other entries? At least we should have 33 cars in the grid.

33 doesn't matter any more, there's only ONE entry in this year's race anyway :p

I think it's safe to add motorsport.com to the 'awful comments' list - some dudebro is calling everyone dumb because, although the 80k live stream figure he saw is true, the total views of over 1.2 million are obviously fake... :slaphead:

So, Alonso did about 220mph average. Last year's best practice lap was at 232, and fastest lap at 225. It's probably in those few mph that the magic happens, but Alonso seems as ready as you can be for this.

I wonder at which point you start feeling the car being at the limit of traction, if it ever happens? I don't know what setup they tend to use at Indy. On an oval you would want the car to be as loose as possible without being borderline unstable. Or do they just go for a "grandma" setup where it's comfortably stable through the corner with a tendency to understeer? And it all probably changes a lot depending on the fuel load and tyre degradation.

Self-quoting, but I've found all my answers in this video, super interesting insight into car setup for the oval and race tactics.

I love Fernando, but I'm sure he's so happy inside that he finally gets so much (good) attention in a while.

This. However the race goes, can you imagine how he's going to feel turning up in Canada knowing that horsepower deficit is still there waiting for him?
