Yeah, Pato should've waited for turn 3, he became a sitting duck (no pun intended)

Excellent finish. Beppe earned it.

Overall one of the best 500s in XXI century at least.

Amazing race. Started like amateur hour, then they delivered :flag:

Congrats to the winner anyways. Gutted for Pato, but Newgarden earned it fair and square

Man, what a great race

No early/mid race "lull", no debate for days afterwards about finishing under yellow vs a late red flag, no horrible crash where we're worried about a driver's condition after a huge flight/hard impact

Just out and out balls to the wall racing from start to finish

Honestly the best 500 I've ever seen.

when he entered on the outside I thought he was flying to close to the sun, but actually he went to heaven

That deliberate lift in the penultimate lap is maybe where he should've gone for it, because it would've cycled him into chasing before T3. But who knows

Absolutely gutted for Pato, but what a battle. They all ran hard and clean on that last stint.

What a race! What a finish!

Nice, we made it to page 33. A fitting number for Indy.

Actually that was like the standard strategy for recent years. It usually took two laps to get back into that slingshot again. But this year it was possible within one lap plus all the moves on the outside so Newgarden still had time into T3.

Idea (of stupidity)

Switch the start times of the 600 and the 500, let NASCAR get their race out of the way then take the later start time for the cooler, better racing for Indycar ;)

Maybe you'd even get an F1 driver flying over for the "other double" too, bonus :p

Pato had a good 5 second pause to think about what word to say in his post race interview, then just dropped the F-bomb anyway

Dude's distraught

I'm kinda sad because this is the only race this year with those cars doing 500 miles

I've always kind of liked the come down of the 600, good way of getting to sleep after the adrenaline of the 500 :p
