That's what I was thinking. The only thing that really worried me from watching the replay is that his head was practically down in his chest from the g-force, but didn't seem to spring back up as the spinning slowed. I dread to think what the HANS does to the check when it's protecting the neck in this sort of crash, but I really hope it was doing its job.

Well, they also showed replays three years ago....

But the fact that the medical team seems kinda "calm" and not hectic might be a good sign

After the extensive replays after they knew Dan Wheldon had gone, I don't think we live in an era of such respect any more.

They haven't shown the angle from inside the straightaway from Turn 2 to Turn 3.

I hope Wickens is alright but that was so stubborn and pointless. Why leave your nose in there on the first green lap of a fucking 500-miler?

I’m 50/50 on this. Part of me is questioning exactly what you mention, the other is questioning why RHR decided to pinch Wickens.

I just hope everyone is ok.

They showed plenty of replays of Justin's crash three years ago. I don't think there's any taboo around it.

Yeah, I know he's mad and I don't care. I do not care. I did not care then. I do not care now. I'm here to race him.

Somewhere Paul Page is cringing at this. (At the idea of replays)

Helmet visor seemed to stay down. I hope he's all right, obviously he must be in pain. None of the marshalls seemed to give serious signs. Fingers crossed...

He got hit by a few things, fence, wheel etc. but his head was pretty far forward in the cockpit at the time so it might have just been glancing blows, the cockpit was completely through the fence though, right up to where he was sitting before it hit the pole and bounced back.

Slightly more concerned that the ambulance is there but there don't actually seem to be many people around Wickens himself.

I think that's pretty normal these days when the driver's condition isn't known.

The car stopped up against the inside wall, I doubt those cameras could see down there.

Did you hear his Dinner with Racers episode too?

There hasn't been a racing death he feels has been handled well, but yeah, Wheldon's pissed him off the most, and he wasn't even involved by then.

Wickens is out of the car in a neck brace. They are firing up the helicopter.

RHR’s body language in that interview doesn’t make me feel good.
