It'll take some getting used to but like the halo eventually you won't notice it all that much. But when it prevents an injury or worse then the debate will be over. |

I really hope that this could set a new trend among open wheelers either, but I dunno F1 would pick something from Indycar (although they used wheel tethers after the Australia 2001 fatal accident) |

I approve it. Looks a bit odd to me, at the moment, but I'm waiting for video footage to make up my mind. That aside, I don't really care if it looks terrible. Anything that can help prevent a serious injury or a fatality, it's fine by me. I wonder how it could affect the aerodynamics of the car. I'd imagine it creates less drag, the air avoiding the open cockpit/helmet. Greater speeds at Indy? |

It's adding 50 pounds of weight in a very bad spot, so that's probably going to more than offset any drag reduction. |

It looks very bulky and blocky compared to the renders. The upshot is that you can clearly see the driver through the windscreen, so the frame isn't as much in the way as the halo is. Hopefully there will be room to mould it into a better shape with the new chassis. The cockpit sides won't need to be as high, for starters. |
