Toyota probably....

Would love it to be Ford though, just for old times sake.

I guess no issues with e-cig sponsorship in the US?

Not really. It was just a matter of how well they adapted it to fit the IndyCar's lines. I think it looks gorgeous.

I just wish the nose was slightly more round rather than angular and straight. Similar to the late 90s/early 2k noses. Nose looks ugly from that angle.

Herta's new sponsor adds at least one race with O'Ward at Long Beach. Herta will be sponsored by King Taco.

Yeah, I know he's mad and I don't care. I do not care. I did not care then. I do not care now. I'm here to race him.

Indycar don't seem to be varying the cars they run onboard cameras on this year. So far its been the same cars, Penske haven't run them, neither has Scott Dixon.

Don't the sponsors actually have to pay for the on-board cameras in IndyCar? It's not like the series hands them out for free.

I Never realised the cameras had to be paid for by the sponsors? I thought IndyCar just fitted the cameras to which ever car they fancied and just assumed the "sponsor"-cam was the American way of commercializing many aspects.

Some good news on the TV front as the first like-for-like comparison this year saw the needle move in the right direction - Long Beach went from a 0.24 last year to a 0.28 on Sunday.

Neah, it's not that simple. Verizon used to choose only two 'free' cameras for each race, everything else had to be paid by the individual sponsors. And there were six sets of cams max (Indy typically has 12). Graham Rahal always used to carry a camera in the Steak n' Shake days since SnS paid for the entire season/every race sponsored by them (GoDaddy also did that with Danica/Hinchcliffe). And there were more in-car cameras in ABC broadcasted races too (Indy is a natural due to exposure but also Detroit). I imagine ABC put some extra money to have more in-car footage.

Penske & Andretti teams plus Rahal, Kanaan & Hinchcliffe are the traditional camera cars though Chilton must be funding his as well given the LB footage. But Ganassi cameras are limited ever since they lost the Target money. Last year they had two at Indy for instance but only one in Detroit for Jones (and not Dixon which was odd enough).

That also explains why the nose cam is used so rarely. Because it can be damaged in a crash most easily and someone has to pay the bill, lol. I remember when only Honda teams used to run those nose cams in the 90s ;)

Unpopular opinion, Chip is a fat bastard and The Captain is past his freshness date! No, we DON'T need or want guaranteed starting spots at Indy! Indy was around long before them and will be around long after them. You want your driver in the race? Give them a car fast enough and give Lady Luck a kiss for good measure. Way it's always been done, as it should be. /Rant

You want to know the funniest thing out of all that?

James Hinchcliffe DNQed from last year's Indy 500...him and Arrow got so much publicity for it just by the way they (and SPM) handled it.

I'm sure Chip and Roger forgot about the 25/8 rule, which, as we all know, is godawful.

Even Alexander Rossi is against guaranteed starting spots in the 500.

As a compromise: How about anyone in the 10 in points who is not yet qualified gets priority in the waiting lane during the last hour of qualifying.

Juncos will field 1 car at Indy, bringing the confirmed\might-as-well-be-confirmed count to 36.

https://racer.com/2019/04/19/juncos-con ... 500-entry/

Only question mark left is over Harding putting together a second car (unlikely but possible).
