The last time Canadians got this angry en masse, the White House was burned down.

Yeah, I know he's mad and I don't care. I do not care. I did not care then. I do not care now. I'm here to race him.

500 will be broadcast live by FOX SPORTS in Australia

glad for yall down under to get at least 1 race live, FOX Sports Australia's treatment to US motorsport in general (IndyCar, NASCAR, NHRA) has been pretty bad

Sky (UK) have suggested on Twitter that they will be removing all advert breaks from the race coverage from COTA onwards.

In terms of Canada, they were only getting 50k average viewers last year. I can see why Sportsnet wanted to do something different as they are strapped after alot of other big sporting deals. I wonder what the other options were though (guessing Discovery Velocity (like IMSA & WEC) was one of them. Could be wrong, but I doubt TSN was ever wanting to get in running given IndyCar severed most connections with the folks in Bristol)

Honestly, I cant imagine IndyCar getting a lot of money for the deals in Australia and Canada.
So why not go with no deal at all instead of a bed deal and put the races geoblocked in youtube? Then at least you don't lose the fans! Try to get a proper deal for the following year then.
Equally: There are countries that get the races but nothing else (and have no access to NBC Gold). Why don't you sell these stations/platforms only the rights for the races since thats everything they want to air, and - again - put all the other sessions on youtube for these countries?

If they can’t get decent TV deals, just go and host them yourself. The St.Pete stream for Latin America worked great, and to be honest, I’d pay for that coverage, directly to IndyCar.

I pay for F1TV, even though I get the channel that broadcasts the F1 races for Latin America. In that channel, we get no ads, onboards in the website, all sessions, but I pay for the better English commentary. I’d gladly pay for Diffey, Bell and Tracy.

That’s just something that INDYCAR needs to do soon. I think the years of pay TV are on their way out, and the streaming services should be the way to go.

Speaking of TV, Danica Patrick will join NBC's studio coverage of the Indianapolis 500

To be fair, she always ran well at Indy and it's a marquee event. It's a reasonable move.

Nice to see another sponsor return, especially one that was an Indy-only sponsor last year as well.

I might be working for a Salesforce partner in the states by Indy time; here's hoping they send us all to the race :excited:

Well this appears to be quite unfortunate timing......
"Fifty women have filed a lawsuit against Salesforce in a San Francisco court, claiming that the company facilitated “sex trafficking, negligence, and conspiracy” by providing tools to support the growth of Backpage.com."

That's about as legit as suing Facebook for facilitating racist discussion. So in today's climate, somehow legit.

I figure it's just something to make some headlines for a bit and it'll be settled and swept away in no time. Just around long enough for people to get fake mad on twitter while not really doing anything to help. lol

Some bombs on the new engine package dropped in Pruett's latest podcast. "3 - slamdunk, 4 - probable?"
https://youtu.be/riDSDDMOuc8?t=4389

-

this seems to fit with the wording that IndyCar has used about a couple possible announcements in May :flag:
