I get the feeling that the only thing stopping IndyCar from having much more entries, is the lack of a third manufacturer.

This! I've heard it said that they can't make enough engines and spares to support extra May entries for one, let alone anymore full time teams. But if the series can keep the momentum going, it sounds promising that they will land at least one more OEM on the engine side for the next formula. Just need more chassis manufacturers.

RACER.com is reporting that Sage Karam will return to Dreyer & Reinbold for the 500 again with a announcement coming on Thursday.
