Thats another Chevrolet kit.

Was pretty much the same thing that happened to Newgarden, It stayed grounded until it backed into the wall. Although unlike what happened to Newgarden the car tried to go higher when it started sliding backwards.

Thinking back the last few years there was a lot of crashes with the DW12 at Indy that saw 1 side of the car lift when it hit the wall & Conor Daly got onto his side as a result of that in 2013. This year be it down to the extra speed, the aero kits or something else the impacts are now sending the cars over rather than just lifting slightly off the ground as we had the past few years.

That reminds me of Conway's accident in the 2012 race. Wouldn't call that a flip though.

I did wonder whether it was as combination of all of what you mention and not one specific issue.

Am I correct to assume we have yet to see a Honda crash? So until we do we don't really know if it's something excusing to Chevy like the numbers are indicating.

Pippa Mann crashed at Honda kit a few days back but she scrubbed off a lot more speed before the car started going backwards.

Yeah I meant in the similar manner, she was quiet a different kind of shunt.

And maybe on the track itself. The airbox might have digged a trench in it.

No extra boost for qualifying due to safety concerns

Was this extra boost just for qualifying to try to break the track record? If so, good riddance. Stupid gimmick.

they have done it for several years now with the DW12 so qualifying speeds would be higher, not just about track record.

Good. Extra boost just for Q is a bit gimmicky.

If that's true.. fuck IndyCar and its drivers.

Sensible decision imo

Also, it seems Carpenter is pretty pissed:

Quote:
I think we all have opinions on what that is," Carpenter said. "I definitely think we have an issue going on that we clearly didn't have in the past. Hopefully this series will be smart and react sooner rather than later so we don't have to keep seeing things happen like this.

I wonder if teams might be more aggressive with the aero trimming now that they've lost HP.

Well, both Helio and Josef crashed without the boost, but more speed would quite def not help in a situation like that.
