Simona will be TK's teammate next year  Sucks for HVM though as Nuclear Energy goes with her too.

Ah thanks, that figures, I like this from Miller:

Nobody in their right mind would take this thankless job with all the whiny car owners, family politics, back stabbers and second-guessing experts.

IndyCar truly doesn’t deserve somebody with Bernard’s pedigree and I almost hope the board offers to make things right with him and voice their 100 percent support.

Then I hope he tells them to $&%@ off and quits.

I'm thinking more of a merge between the KV and HVM programs.

So speaking to my Italian friend, he said Indycar is pretty popular in Italy which I found quite surprising, Sky Sports cover it and promote it pretty well over there.

Well if Zanardi races in the Indy 500 next year I don't see why he couldn't race at Monza. That'd be awesome.

Not really per Vasser himself:

http://auto-racing.speedtv.com/article/ ... r-program/

Quote:
Vasser told SPEED.com on Friday, KV is close to announcing a second program that has all of the elements it was looking for, but without the involvement of another team.

"There's no KV, HVM merger whatsoever,” he said. “I can tell you that two cars is what’s likely to happen. I can’t say who it is, but you’ll see on Monday when we run two cars on the track at Barber.”

Randy Bernard has been officially fired.

http://auto-racing.speedtv.com/article/ ... d-meeting/

Quote:
An emergency meeting by the members of the Hulman & Co. board was convened on Sunday to weigh the fate of IndyCar Series CEO Randy Bernard, who was ultimately fired from the position, but is being kept on in a token advisory role.

Are they planning on replacing him with someone better?

It's like they are holding their breath just to see what happens if it's a way to kill themselves.

Considering the amount of shit flung at him, I can understand why he'd say it's in his best interest.

What the bollocks?

How do you justify that?

Dammit, Indycar really looked like it was having some stability there for a while

Yes. Now he can go work for a company and in a position where he's actually appreciated for the things he does.

There was a report in the Times on Friday that CVC are now actively scouting for Bernie's replacement...

Glad I didn't buy Pocono tickets yet. Fuck this series. In 3 years he's pulled Indycar from craptastic to possibly the best racing week in and week out in North America and the short sighted nitwits in Indianapolis decide to fire him because he's laying down law that hasn't been seen in open wheel racing since, well... Ever.

I can't wait for Tony George to be named CEO of Indycar. He'll be the puppet run by the teams that they've always wanted. Can't believe a word coming from the Board, so it would be of no surprise to me that the "ultimatum" they gave him was just smoke to give him the position to resign only to be named the new CEO, free and clear of any conflict of interest.
