I'd ressurrect Galmer :-p

I'd bring back the Truesports, between us we have the makings of chassis competition again :)

Denver was an underrated street track, one of the best I've seen in all likelihood, however with 2002 rules of traction control and pit windows, this isn't the best advert for it.

That Denver street circuit is one of the best CART/IndyCar ever raced on to be honest. I don't remember the 2002 race but 2003-2006 were all really good ones IIRC...especially 2006.

2005 was a great race too, the alternate red tyres were junk there that year and it seemed everyone passed everyone else during the course of the race as people had to take their mandatory time on them and suck it up.

*sigh* Good times :p

2006 was a fun year for Champcar, very underrated imo.

Yeah, AJ's team switch was a genius move, it looked like he even could shake up the previously dominant Bourdais too
A lot of Champcar's publicity was centered on him that year and it looked like it was sowing the seeds of a rivalry that could've caught the public's attention, but he decided the money for being a back of the back NASCAR champion was better than being a champcar champion and it all fell apart

So what looked like a slight resurgence of Champcar ended up being just another audition piece for a NASCAR team, such is life.

Am I the only one who absolutely loved the Vegas track they raced in '07? I know it lost bucketloads of money, and no one was in the stands, but it was a great track. From what I remember, at the time it was the fastest street course they ever raced on.

It was a pretty damn good track, the race was a bit marred by unreliability but if Champcar had continued i'm sure it would've been the marquee race for it before too long

It also had one of the most airbournes-inducing chicanes I've ever seen, you got a picture of the undertray of most of the field after that weekend.

Couldn't watch those years as they put the absolute worst single commentator to ever call a race that I have ever watched. But this in the first year that Paul Tracy won the title, the audience was so bad that no more races were broadcasted. Good to know about this season, gonna look for it on YT.

Can I just say how much I appreciate Indycar putting in the extra effort to clean up and remaster these broadcasts for YT?

The picture quality, given the age of some of these races, range from great to absolutely spectacular.

Not any new footage, but the best quality you can get! Hadn't noticed before that Janet Guthrie raced in huge-ass aviator glasses!

Oh yes, the one where JV cuts Matsushita's car in two.

I think I watched this race more than 10x, on of my first that I taped, Brazillian winning first race at Brazil, with a great call by our local commentator, and that accident.

Really helped to my addiction.

I've posted that Rio race in this thread before. I still can't believe Mark Blundell escaped that crash with only a broken foot/ankle.

The fact that he climbed out and walked away for a good 15-20 seconds proves that adrenaline is the king of performance enhancers.
