Why is the delta force theme playing in my head when I read these news?

Because the May is getting closer and closer. For any real Indianapolis 500 enthusiast this is quite normal around the Easter. When you go to bed prior the race day, you'll be humming "Back home again in Indiana" until you fall in the sleep. In the race day morning, you'll wake up with images of Indycars from different eras in your mind while Delta Force is playing louder than ever in your head and Paul Page narrates your morning activities through. It's completely normal.

Also, dibs for starting the 101st Indianapolis 500 thread. This one shall be my last in a row that started in the 97th in 2013. I've prepared this one since last year and I think that after this one I want to give some room for the next one who's sharing the same passion on the Indy500 as I do.

He's suffering from the same mental disorder as most of us, for some reason everybody I know thinks the same, probably because Busch binned it on Carb day (iirc) and for some reason that event has stuck in our heads.

I call it Busch syndrome, probably caused by the many meltdowns and crashes the two brothers have had, so much so that when they do well, our mind cannot process it and blanks it out.

Anyone have stats relating to number of F1 wins that will be in this years field versus some of the older years? Or something along those lines.

The Mandela Busch effect

Could've sworn that ended in a "well, he showed well but damn he crashed, maybe next year?" feeling?. Meh.

He blew an engine in the 600 later in the day, maybe that's where that feeling's coming from

About the only good point in that article is if it rains a lot in may, Alonso is screwed

Not really. He just needs to get used to running in traffic in close quarters and he won't really get much experience in that until race day.

I'm surprised he's skipping rookie orientation.

And yeah, that article is abysmal.

Jenna Fryer needs to slide back into the NASCAR paddock where people give a shit(or don't, whatever) about her opinions.Your 13 year oldhas her pulse on what's hot in the racing world? Shut the fuck up.

He isn't skipping ROP, he's flying straight there after the Spanish GP to complete it.

For some reason, when I first read that Alonso was competing in the 500, I immediately thought he'd be flying there after Monaco, like Nascar drivers do sometimes between the 500 and the 600. I'm stupid.

Though come to think of it, that's what the Triple Crown should be all about. All 3 races in the same month. Or should it be called the Royal Triple Crown :8:

Andretti has already said that he will be sent out with the rest of the team's entries to get experience of this. Five other cars isn't much of a pack, but it's definitely good that they can do this.

Kurt Busch doesn't care what Jenna Fryer thinks.

Nor does Tony Stewart.
