Will also knows the track well enough to know you can't go 2 abreast through there, he saw Kimball wanted to fight him through the fountain section so knew he wasn't going to back down, he should've realised it was lap 1 and backed out of it to live to race another corner.

Could say the same about Kimball, plus if there's room to go 2 abreast through the fountain there's room to go abreast through the corner after
