That reminds me that I never ever understood why on earth there is not even a fence between the Track and the Pits.This is asking for a disaster some day.

It's never worked. These cars can't do standing starts yet. But IndyCar will keep doing it because its entertaining. And they'll keep doing it until someone is killed. Again.
