Jones fastest but he's getting a big tow. He's been following the car that the cameras have been trained on the last few laps.

Yeah, I know he's mad and I don't care. I do not care. I did not care then. I do not care now. I'm here to race him.

Pagenaud 228.8.

Don't think 230's going to be a problem.

Seeing that 3 as the second digit makes me so very happy. :)

I wonder if that second digit will ever be a "4". Probably not for a few years, if ever.

I really don't know. But I can still remember when I heard about Gugelmin running 240 at Fontana and just being blown away. And then when I actually watched de Ferran go 241, I was awestruck. 220 these days doesn't do much to the emotions (which is crazy to think about!) but 230 really still feels special. 240 is just almost mystical and mythical, like you can't even image it really existing.

if they took those 1000bhp late 90's cars to Indy quite probably they'll beat 240, but surely they would had to lift on turns

Daly just about caught the wall off T4 a moment ago.

Easily go by the 240 mark. Given the right conditions, and big enough balls, one might be able to do 1 lap flat. I would think the outright single lap would be around 245.

We may one day see the Indy track record fall, but I somehow doubt they'll ever creep past 240 again.

Marco with a solid 237 trap speed into T1. With a tow, I assume.

I still believe cars aren't safe enough to run average above 240. Getting airborne at that speed can be a one way trip
