On that whole drinking milk thing:

I don't drink it unless it is with cereal.

BUT

Much in the analogy of Mike Skinner would wreck his mom to win that damn race once upon a time.... I'd chug that sumbitch if it meant winning that damn Indy 500.

ECMWF looks quite okay for raceday. Others cant put a time on the showers. Other others like ICON look like doomsday.

For some reason, SPAM did not arrange and have not yet requested for TK to do his refresher, and so if the 500 is delayed (weather forecast for Sunday does not look good), and Mr. H tells Larson to get to Charlotte, the only driver that would definitely be allowed to replace him is Nolan Siegel. Jack Harvey might be allowed to replace him, but it is unclear if he needs to have done a refresher (he did the Iowa races last year but not Gateway).

SPAM will now definitely not request a refresher session for TK, and whilst Harvey doesn't have to do a refresher as the rule says any oval race after the previous year's 500 is good enough, he is also ineligible as he has not taken part in any of the practice sessions.

So, if Larson can't do the 500, SPAM's only alternative is Nolan Siegel.

Yeah, I know he's mad and I don't care. I do not care. I did not care then. I do not care now. I'm here to race him.

Unfortunately, Sky have reversed their decision to show the race live on Youtube, for reasons that they have not elaborated on.

There will of course be many other streams - the best will likely be found here; https://latifistreams.com/motorsport/indy-500

My guess is that it was actually against terms set in their contract.

Not like Sky to not promise the world then let you down

Meanwhile all the Latifi streams are showing Monaco practice, anything for Indycar practice anywhere?

Maybe I cannot read properly or I am blind but is this race without any support series? I remember a few years back we had the 100 mile race for the Indy Lights.

Yeah, Freedom 100 got canned years ago. They have the 75 and 90 but they're held at IRP instead.

They're tonight. Single camera low budget production in previous years iirc. USF2000 (Freedom 75) and USF2000 Pro (Freedom 90) are the classes.

Thanks Gaara and deggis. Well, that's a bummer. Maybe they will change their minds one day.

Wasn't it dropped after the switch to the new Indy Lights cars? So they're not just fit for the big oval?

When Roger Penske took over, he dropped the Freedom 100 because he felt it was too dangerous.

They ran a couple races in the new cars before it was scrapped. Shame, because I really enjoyed the way those cars ran on the Indy oval (I remember them hanging the right rear out and sliding on corner exit the first time). But as Dan said, there was always a lot of danger in that race. In the era of the Freedom 100, I think it's fair to say they easily had more horrible crashes than the IndyCars, and with WAY less track time. The ratio is hard to ignore.

It was interesting how as the field shrank, the racing got more dangerous.

Does Indycar ever have support races on any of its ovals now, or do the supports only race on the road courses?

Don't know if it's just a European thing but if I was going to watch a race at a track, I'd want more than one race in the day
