Still, good clean race in the end, proving that this track wasn't a terrible  idea for Formula E after all

They just can't drive in the wet...

perhaps that's why they insist on SC starts on wet weather

I usually don´t follow Formula E, but Vandoorne is doing well so I thought I give it a chance.

Fans of Formula E, did I choose a bad weekend or is this always so terrible? Saturday was a total joke of a race, and that was before the farce of the last two laps happened, Sunday was as exciting as that time I went driving in electric karts myself where after 3 laps I noticed the track was so easy I didn´t need to touch the brakes, and after 5 laps I realised I could go full throttle through all the corners.

And why all the extra chicanes? And the hard tirewalls on the apex? And the promising young stars or ex F1 guys who thought that Formula E was the next best thing, only to drive around in fancy karts? Is anyone taking this championship seriously?

Yes.

They have to use shorter layouts because of how their batteries are charged by regeneration while braking
More braking=more regen
Also instant torque means these cars have better bite out of corners than they do top end speed so they create their tracks around these unique features, and know their product a lot more than traditional motorsport fans on the internet who are viewing the series with the glasses of wanting it to be exactly like every other damn series on the planet

Today's race was great.

Let's be honest though, FE didn't cover itself in glory this weekend. Saturday's race was one of the most amateur events I've ever seen and I don't blame a new fan for thinking the series is a bit of a joke after that circus. Sunday's race was more in line with what it's usually like but probably didn't do enough to convince someone who's first race was Saturday.

I find this complaint a bit strange - isn't this what we've been asking for to police track limits?

It caused several crashes because some amateur drivers (with years of F1 or Le Mans experience) tried to squeeze past the guy in front of them, and the guy in front of them turning in as if they had all the space in the world.
I say it again, it reminded me of the moments when I go karting. And I don't mean the professional karting where every young racing driver starts his career, I mean the indoor karting in a local hangar where they have created as many corners as possible to build the longest track possible with the limited space available, and every straight is too short to pass that girl who is forced by her boyfriend to join him and his friends, is afraid to use the throttle, has no idea what a racing line is, but is still impossible to pass without giving her a little nudge to make her lose control.
