It's Puncture Valley!

Should be going on Saturday, first time since 2007 (!)

Thorney have pulled out. A tail happy car at Thruxton is not a good idea.

Rob Collard ran the London Marathon yesterday in 4 hours and 6 minutes.

"I was glad to reach the end. There’s a huge sense of achievement but all I wanted was a cup of tea and a muffin"

I'll be there again! Just hoping it's a nice day, if the weather's as shit as it has been recently it'll be fairly unpleasant...

Ahhh the British DEGA....
(Well, as close as we're ever going to get anyway!)

My Favourite BTCC meeting of the year, nothing like a track where top speed and slipstreaming are the key to success.

(Well, they would be if "not having a puncture" wasn't the number 1 skill to have. :p )

So have the Clios fallen out with their organising body properly yet or can we expect 2 Clio races on TV on sunday?
*Crosses fingers*

Clios are always good value at Thruxton, I still fondly remember the amazing slipstreaming battle in 03 that was more like a Handford era CART race than anything.
(And I still hold a grudge against Rob Huff for punting Daniel Buxton up the banking in 2002 as well!)

Along with too much camber, punctures and fortuitous results.

Oh yes and no curb hopping at the chicane :(

Hope Dynamics don't screw Sheds over with tyre pressures again this time. He always seems to get punctures.

Will the new, lower kerbs cause less punctures or more punctures though?

I don't know if new low profile will mean more of them are used, which might result in more punctures or they'll result in less punctures because they're not as taxing on the tyres since they're not bouncing over them...

I guess we'll only find out on Sunday eh?

Curbs are curbs. They will interact with the sidewalls of the tyres still, so could still cause punctures.

I've already spent £200 on tickets this year :p

I think there's a possibility of drivers making more risky moves into the chicane now that the kerbs are flatter. There should be a lower risk of suspension/steering damage.

Going to miss this weekend, which is actually gutting. Really getting into the BTCC again, despite Plato.

And Thompson in a third car....

*sigh*

I guess James sees the BTCC as a closed book but he still has LOADS of fans here, a shame he never turns up for more than the occasional guest seat.

Shedden's gone a second faster than anyone else in both practice sessions so far:
