That's good news.

Wow that was unexpected.

He's been driving quite a lot lately - did V8 Supercars last year, LMS with RML this year (and Fun Cup!) and now this. Makes sense given that he had been allegedly fading away from the Stig role before he got the boot

But yeah, a surprise. Wonder how many cheers or boos he'll get

Having Collins on the grid will be great. It is always good to get another decent driver in the field. And an extra hour from ITV? Thank you I just hope they don't use it as filler to continually show repeats of the 1992 finale like last year.



Hmmm, I forsee a moan coming

I'll enjoy seeing him defend his greatness after "the Stig" gets his butt kicked by most of the field. Not that any driver should be expected to lead their first race, but the way Collins has been behaving lately, it'll be good to see him taken down a peg. It's easy to look like a legendary driver when competing with 3 comedians on an edited programme; less so in the BTCC.

How has Collins been behaving recently? I've not seen anything to judge him against.

I saw an interview with him posted somewhere recently. Maybe the Top Gear thread? He seemed quite calm and mature about the whole thing but I don't know what else he's been saying.

Sure some of this may be media beat-up, but there's no doubt he's grabbing any mic he can to capitalise on his 15 minutes of fame. Everyone knew the Stig was Ben Collins before all this happened anyway, but he's gone about it like a true prick. The Stig to me is an invention of clever production and direction anyway, any number of racing drivers could put on the suit and look good in an edited tv show.

I think you are reading too much into this Plithy. Anyone in that position who has been unable to speak for the duration of their time in that position will ultimately want to tell the world their side to a story, I don't see him being a true prick for doing that. The way the BBC / Clarkson went about trying to "silence" Ben Collins was laughable and puts my support firmly on Collins' side.

Brilliant

Extension to 7 and a half hours on Sunday I notice as well.

Good stuff, hopefully it'll continue into next year. ITV Player works very well on a PS3 too
