By my calculations, if all goes well, there'll be 11 different manufacturers on the grid, with some of them sporting different car styles.

I was picturing it blue, potentially with a huge dent down the left hand side of it! :p

STOP MAKING PREDICTIONS!

Everytime you do we get less cars and drivers. Have you never noticed the trend? :p

Okay :p

We're going to end up with 10 cars on the grid next season :p

In seriousness, its reasonable to speculate that most of the newer teams (such as Dynojet, RAR and AmD) are in it for the long haul, whilst most of the midfield teams should remain. Anything above 20 is pretty good, and that number is almost assumed.

You idiot, now we won't get into double figures :(

I predict 100 cars[/countering]

Now you've done it.

Dynojet should be a two-car outfit; Wrathall and either Tom Sharp or Carl Breeze.

Thorney is still committed to getting the Insignia out for Silverstone this year, and as we have seen in the past the teams that stay quiet are usually the ones that deliver (Geoff Steel, Welch etc.) as opposed to those that make loads of noise and end up delivering sod all (Team 48, Clyde Valley).

Clyde Valley did eventually make it but didn't even complete the season before disappearing.

I don't like to say it but the series does need Plato, if only to give us all something to shout about in the race threads. :p

I'm confident that there will be 25 cars or so next year. Hopefully the performance of Wrathall and Austin will encourage some more people to develop a car for next year.

The Ginetta Supercup champion is a confirmed entry as they get a free drive with Pirtek (I think), so I would expect Pirteck to be back next year.

although maybe we can hope that Turkington can return with WSR.

Why can you hope that? Are there any legit rumours about? As far as I know he is pretty happy at Flash Engineering.

Turks would be so much better suited and appreciated in the BTCC. He's wasted where he is now. I also then hope to see Rydell back in BTCC next year. If only for no other reason that to annoy Dicksplash with pure speculation derived from zero fact.

Turks name was on the WSR trailer this weekend. I have a feeling it's always been on there (although I can't remember why), or could that be some good news?

It has been since the start of 2010 and I think its sort of an honour thing really.

And Turkington deserves to be in the BTCC because he's such a great talent, its such a shame he couldn't continue.

Good drivers in STCC are wasted talents, even though they are surrounded by other very competent drivers?

The only argument you seem to have is that he only "belongs" in BTCC is because he's British. Man, this "BTCC is the greatest touring car championship in the world because it's British"-attitude is annoying. The best drivers aren't even that special, they whinge and bully around all the time, and nobodies (okay, hard to define) are taking podiums and wins left and right with half-developed cars.

The only arguement I've got is what I've already stated...
