So bad you demand an SC to artificially bunch everyone up for even the slightest bit of debris...

They need to get over their obsession with pit stops. Nothing happens in the middle portion of these races because everyone's concerned with their strategy instead of actually racing.

Yeah.

I'll take an artifical race worth watching over a purist dirge of a parade

The notion of purism is an anethema to good racing. Who cares? There isn't a category on earth that can say "ok show up with whatever you want, we're not gonna pause the race no matter how bad a crash is, whoever is fastest wins"
They're all varying degrees of comprimised for TV windows, degrading tyres, BOP, fuel stops, safety cars, VSCs (which are just as artificial, just the other way), Red Flags, green white chequreds, push to pass, DRS....whatever else

If we're giving up time to watch the least it can do is be worth watching, otherwise people will dwindle and they'll be racing around on their own.

Lets see how long the TV companies and sponsors want to be involved with no-one watching...

No. I don't see the point in wasting laps behind the SC for something that's quickly picked up. Just because a few people with no attention spans get bored with long races doesn't mean they have to throw an SC for every single bit of debris.

It's not about the attention span, it's about the next part of the race, as the VSC usually gives a free pitstop to those ahead of those who have already pitted, then they get the benefit of fresh tyres AND not having the gap between them and the people that pitted first reduced, so it's no wonder it ruins racing.

It's just as artificial as a SC only it has an effect on making races worse and the SC makes them more exciting.

I was playing cricket yesterday so missed the race, tuned in for a 12 minute recap of the race and it felt like 8 minutes of it was pitstops :slaphead:

All the feedback I'm seeing is saying one thing - boring.

At least we get to see it this time ;)

the fuel drop needs to go, that only came in because the Nissan used more fuel than the others so it was a "BoP" kind of thing

Nissan left anyway but the fuel drop remains

Brown won race 2, which was a bit more interesting then yesterday's. Mostert was 2nd, he lead most of the race but lost the lead as Brown had better pace at the end of the second stint and passed him at the second pit stop. Feeney would have probably finished 2nd but he pushed Golding off the track early in the race and got a 5 second penalty.

Hazlewood has been confirmed to stay at Erebus one more race.

Also, their managing director just handed in her notice. It's a soap opera that's continuing as the days roll on.

green tyres, low fuel - it's the usual Supercars marketing ploy

in the sessions that matter, it was the usual position for Jones

So these cars can race pretty well when they don't have to do pitstops, eh? :whistling:
