Holy shit Courtney went off on the straight into the hairpin, smashed into the tyre barrier in the middle of the runoff and ended up on the other side of the track and collected three other cars. I don't think that's happened in 25 years of racing here.

Were there tyres there? Just seemed to be a lip of gravel and a bit of a bounce

Either way, wasn't caught well enough to work out exactly what happened

I bet there'll be SOMETHING there next year though...

There were a couple of tyre stacks but they were toward the corner itself, he just clipped the beginning of the first set. That wasn't gravel, that was the drainage.

Jacobson has been dumped by Premiair. His replacement has not been confirmed:

Not surprising. He hasn't achieved much in the main game and spent all weekend crashing into everyone.

Townsville is this week. There's still no news on who's replacing Jacobson.

In Bathurst news, Matt Chahda will be running a 4th wildcard with minor support from WAU. Also announced today is that Aaron Seton will be partnering Jack Le Brocq, becoming the first third-generation driver to take part in the race.

James Golding has been confirmed as his replacement.

There'll probably be only 3 wildcards now as Michael Anderson had his super license denied and he apparently isn't interested in running the race unless he can drive himself.

There's the Toyota pile-up, a 5+ car nose-to-tail at the hairpin.

And we've got another carpark in the Porsches, this time at the first turn. Maybe 10 cars were held up, I don't think there was much damage.

And right after I posted that, a huge crash for Tony Quinn.

He is ok, it took a few minutes to get him out. I think something broke and fired him head on into the concrete.

First of the main races is go.

Golding's return to the main game was over pretty much instantly, he made contact with another car and got sent up in the air. Also both Jones and Smith have had to go to the garage after they made contact.

Apparently not so ok. But he is stable at least.

Even the youtube highlights couldn't make that look exciting

The first 5 laps seemed good (and showed in full) then that was that lol

This track usually promotes good racing, and the Super2s seemed good on their highlight clip, but Supercars seems so mired in fuel and tyre strategy in short touring car races that the actual racing part takes a back seat, sadly

Man, another big one in TCM. Looks like there might have been a brake failure or something.
