What a bummer, Pukekohe was always one of the best rounds of the season. I hope whatever replaces it is better than the godawful Hamilton street circuit they visited the last time Puke was off the calendar.

It'll likely be Hampton Downs, which as a track to drive is cool, but I'm not sure about it for actual action. And the Hamilton track was awesome (yes I may be biased given it was a 20 min walk from home :p )

The Bend schedule:

I think the broadcast won't be showing Friday.

Even Paul Ricard has more character than this joint.

Well I don't know how but it's thrown up a truly crazy result with Zak Best (the wildcard, in a unsponsored Tickford Mustang) getting pole for today's race. There's some suggestion that he and the other wildcard Jordan Boys have tyres that were manufactured on a different date which could have contributed, though Boys only managed a 17th and he's normally not that much slower then Best is.

Lap 1 is done. Best has a 1 second lead but is now under investigation for a jump start. Waters jumped SVG for 2nd.

No further action! He still leads by about 1.2 after 4 laps.

Lap 11 and SVG has finally jumped Best as Waters pits from 3rd and gets jumped by Davison. Anton almost got past him as well but Waters bumped him out of the way .

Waters got pole for both races today with Randle doing a very good job and getting 2nd. Best qualified 7th for the third race which seems to suggest that it's probably more the Tickford cars being quick that was responsible for his pole then the different tyre batch, which has now been reallocated to the normal drivers anyway.

Huge flip in the Aussie Racing Cars :8:

Driver OK, it was a pretty typical flip for them with one car spinning and the other clipping it and going over about 5 or 6 times.

Oh shit, huge crash. Randle went nowhere and got absolutely cleaned up by Heimgartner.

Thankfully looks like they're out of the cars. That has to be day over be day over for both of them though.

Percat also got collected by Randle's car getting speared across the track.

Mostert from 5th to 1st on the restart. Waters dropped to 4th and SVG dropped to 5th before SVG jumped Cam.

Predictably SVG has done the long run strat and it's worked out for him, he's leading from Mostert with a few to go.

Another rollover, this time in the Porsches. It only went over once though.
