This weekend the 2018 Aussie Supercars season comes to an end with two 250 kilometre races on the tight Newcastle street circuit. Scott McLaughlin leads the points by 14 points over his championship rival Shane Van Gisbergen, which is basically nothing considering that there are 300 points to be gained if you can win both the races this weekend. Hopefully we have a clean but hard battle right to the finish of the second race. Here is the schedule (all times GMT+11): https://www.supercars.com/2018-coates-hire-newcastle-500-schedule-results/ The second-tier Super2 series also finishes this weekend with two races being held, both paying 150 points to win. Chris Pither is 32 points ahead of Paul Dumbrell going into the weekend, and Alex Rullo and Garry Jacobson are also within 150 points of Pither so that will be a close battle too. |
