Would love two Insignias on the grid.

Would it be beyond imagination to think of a tie up between Thorney and Gilham, running 2 Hondas and 2 Insignias?

I thought the same.

Formula Ford on the BTCC bill for 3 years - confirmed

FFord will race alongside BTCC at all ten rounds.

Fingers crossed that Formula Ford actually has more than 6 cars racing next season.

And no wings

/brings up the old debate.

Interesting that they decided to make the FF festival non Eco-boost in aid to both increase the numbers at the festival and also give Ecoboost teams more time to focus on 2013 budgets etc.

Either way great news that single seater racing is back on the bill, (though I guess they can kiss goodbye to the Channel 4/Motors TV highlights show :p ) I wonder if F3/GT will auction their slot off to someone else as well?

S2000 cup for 2013. Appears to be the same as the Jay-Ten Trophy in last year's WTCC.

Looks pretty swish.

Just hope there's enough on the grid next year.

It's really a shame FFord is selling out is USP, a year spent in FFord teaches drivers all about mechanical grip and has in the past given those drivers a leg up on their rivals who have gone straight into slicks/wings and think aero grip is all there is.

Before it stood out from the crowd, now its just another slick/wing championship out there and why would you pick FFord over any other series (presuming Renault are still going to run their renault series elsewhere and Palmer's F4 kicking in soon then it's got at least 2 direct rivals if not more )

And, though this is less important, as a fan it means the racing will be a lot worse.
Maybe it's in the editing but the FFord shows have been fantastic to watch on C4 this year, even with about 5 cars the racing is still close, particularly at Zaandvort. (Only realy the Nurburgring was dull tbh )

FRenault UK is dead, and will remain dead for the foreseeable future.

The only real rival is F4, and there is an abundance of mediocre British talent ready to fill the grids in both series. All of the good drivers race on the continent.

It's not a stepping stone to anything else, it only has to be entertaining.

No offence but if these drivers are coming out of Karts then there should be no pressure on anyone to be talent or mediocre, this is their proving ground and we'll judge them at the end of the season.

Though if its going to be filled with people who are stepping back from F3 cos they didn't do very well, I take your point :p

By the end of karting, it's pretty much decided who has a chance to go much further up the single seater ladder and who doesn't. With the advent of these Europe-wide first step championships, the national championships have become far less relevant, and are not so much of a springboard to the next level up any longer.

Oh, that's good, there were some rumours they were going to switch to an Insignia (bought from Thorne).

Not that I have anything against the Insignia, but variety is good.
