That's amazing sportsmanship there.

Obviously a deal: I'll have a go at Jackson, but if I can't get him, I'll let him back through

Nice gesture tbh. :)

Classy move from Collard there, how refreshing :)

A great weekend as ever from the BTCC, shame we now have to wait so long for our next dosage :(

You wouldn't see Vettel do that to Webber and vice-versa.

Jackson drops a subtle hint there...

Best move Collards ever made. Foster moved over to let him go at Jackson and since he couldn't he gave the place back.

Neal 140
Jackson 131
Shedden 120
Jordan 111
Nash 104
Plato 100
Collard 66
Chilton 64

Really impressed by Foster, he's actually rather good.

Interviews with both WSR drivers.

And not a single moan about the turbos.

Plato will be moaning.

I think this weekend its clear that parity has been achieved. No-one bolted away down the straights.

Then again, Croft's straights aren't that big.

Neither are Brands Hatch Indy's, but even there you could see the huge advantage.

Mid-season thought? Best driver, team, car, surprises, disappointments. Expectations for the next 15?

I suppose Mat Jackson needs a mention. Year old, non-factory Ford and nearly in the championship lead. And Rob Austin for persevering with the Audi! TOC in the Golf too, in fact the Golf I'd probably call best car for the way it's improved over last year. Lea Wood has also been good in the two events he's raced at.

+ Neal & Jackson have been very good for the most part
+ Honda really surprised me - the car is really good
+ Some of the NGTC cars are making progress, demonstrated by Austin and Wrathall's pace this weekend
+ Some of the new drivers have been impressive, eg Newsham, Smith, Gilham, Foster. There's a lot of quality in the grid this year
+ ITV4, great coverage as usual
+ A lot of different manufacturers. Great strength in depth - Chevrolet, Honda, Vauxhall, Seat, BMW, Audi, Toyota, Golf, Ford and with the promise of Vauxhalls and a Proton to come.
- Plato whinging
- Paul O'Neill has disappointed me, hopefully they make progress with the Cruze

I'll go along with that Phil. Add in the possibility of more cars and manufacturers so I think this year will be known for diversity and finding some impressive drivers as you mentioned. I'm loving this year - far more than last year.

I have time on my hands later this week, so might write a proper mid-season BTCC review.

From the lack of comments, I assume the cameras missed Plato extremely blatantly taking out Gilham around Hawthorn (or rather going into the chicane). He moved over into the right rear of him and Gilham pulled off a nice save, then did it again two laps later and came fairly close to sending him into a marshal's post. Just thought you might all like to know. :p He obviously got very frustrated.

At least he didn't score any points from it! Great result this weekend.

Showed the first one, second one they just said Gilham went off.

I certainly didnt, it looked a bit pushy from behind the cars (was sat on the mound). It was a great save, in fact there were quite a few good saves over the day.

Best races in the support classes so far this year - perhaps helped by the lack of Porsches? Clio race had some of the best laps racing they've had in years.

Turbo cars were still clearly quicker down the start finish straight - there were occasions when both the Chevy's and BMWs got better exits off the hairpin but by the 1st corner had dropped behind the turbo cars.

It balanced out because the non-turbos were better through the corners - at the moment I think the parity is similar to WTCC a few years ago where the Seats had the edge down the straights, but the BMWs and Chevys were faster through the twisty bits. I'm not sure this is perfect parity, but I think it's probably as good as it can be.
