Didn't work the first time, certainly wouldn't work the second.

Might have to make a Plato banner for my trip to Rockingham next Saturday.

The restart was one of those things really - a few of them were in the wrong. Boardman for backing up to let the pace car go before the last corner then going and stopping again. Got to choose your moment and stick to it, we were told this in the legends briefings when safety cars were introduced to the SMRC series. Sadly as with most standard MSA rules they don't apply to the BTCC drivers, hence Knockhill installing the high kerbs to stop the rampant corner cutting that was never previously punished either. However, Smith, Newsham and a couple of others who hadn't kept up with the line were in too much of a rush to catch up at the last minute and steamed in too hard.

I don't think Boardman did anything in the race that deserved any punishment.

Pathetic Loud Angry Tantrum-throwing Oldman

How were the Legends races Hedgey? They sell the footage to the usual Legends broadcast crew or does this round go missing from Motors TV?

Legends weren't out this time, I think that TOCA and SMRC work out between them which local series have the best field and so on and pick a couple to put on the bill. As to why they were televised this time when they previously haven't been... I don't know. Probably $$.

I had no idea that the results of BTCC race were still provisional. I saw this in an article on Autosport.com earlier:

Quote:
Tom Boardman won the reversed-grid race at Knockhill earlier this month, but his first BTCC success remains provisional after a clash with Jason Plato's Chevrolet Cruze. The incident will be investigated at this weekend's Rockingham round.

There's no way Tom should lose his win, if he does then Platard should be stripped of his win at Snetteron.

Okay, so Boardman is a bit of a thug, but come on...

If they can happily go back and fuck Boardman, why don't they retroactively investigate Plato? Strip him of 20 wins and a championship.

If you play with fire, you get burned. Jason had this shit coming.

That's bizarre not to sort it out on the day of the round or the days after. A cynic could suggest they're waiting to see how things pan out at Rockingham before seeing if the championship race needs any alterations...

I really hope it's not so they can play around with the championship, that would be the ultimate BS move.

Like taking Adams win away to get Platard to stay in the championship.

Why are you all acting as if this is the first time this has ever happened? Earlier in the season, an incident between O'Neill & Collard at Donington wasn't investigated until Thruxton. The outcome was that O'Neill received a reprimand and points on his licence; I expect something similar to happen in this case (if there is any penalty at all). Besides, if Boardman is disqualified its certainly won't make the championship closer (Shedden & Neal would be tied on points but further ahead of everyone else).
