At this rate, Plato will be looking back through his past crashes and deciding which one he wants to declare as giving him the concussion that led to HIS drop in performance too :whistling:

So any ideas what’s happened and caused the split between Simpson and Eurotech?

It's come totally out the blue. It looks like Simpson might just to want to be an independent as he has got all the data gathered from Eurotech

Rockingham statement:

Quote:
A sale of Rockingham Motor Speedway Ltd has now completed and as a result, there will be changes in business operations at the venue.

We would reassure all customers that these changes will not impact any aspect of events scheduled to run during 2018, nor the opportunity to stage further events this year. Until the end of the year, the Rockingham team will remain 100% committed to delivering the venue and associated services as professionally and proudly as ever before.

We thank you for your continued support and a further statement will follow shortly.

Is this another innaproiate site sold to money grabbing developers for housing? (Originally it was to be, until they discovered the water problem, then Broome was going to build a theme park on there, until he discovered it would "take more work than battersea to fix" before the land was sold for the track).

Without doubt it'll be houses soon, since everything cultural in the country that isn't a football ground will be bulldozed in favor of houses eventually

I'm sure we'll have some nice places to live in the future (but not affordable ones) but there'll be fuck all to do.

It's always sad to see the sport lose a venue. Mismanagement over the years didn't help.

Can I be honest and say that I never really liked Rockingham and not totally disappointed it's going. Yeah, sure it was good for spectators but always found the track a bit boring.

It's the infield curse. Designing a road course inside the infield of an Oval is never going to hold a candle to a road course that has evolved its layout over generations of racing.

FWIW I didn't think they did tooooo bad a job, and the layout they raced in 2003 before everyone got pissy about not using the chicane properly and that somehow being Rockingham's fault wasn't too bad.

It's fine for touring cars, the section from the final corner down to the first hairpin was always fun, anything bigger would've had issues though.

I'd still rather it was around than wasn't though, in the very small chance some rich billionaire invested in it in the future and brought oval racing back to the UK. Oh well.

Still, it was much better than the Kansas roadcourse...

Now that is boring. Watched Grand-Am there a few years ago, nothing happened.
