Pirtek and Andy Jordan have signed a new deal which lasts through 2018. Looks like Jordan will be in tin-tops till then

Great news but does it explicitly say that Pirtek will only remain as Andrew's sponsor if he's stays in BTCC? I doubt there's little to stop Andrew taking the Pirtek money to a WTCC team or something else.

Yes, it is part of the agreement that Jordan will remain in the BTCC til 2018

Very much doubt Jordan would be able to make much progress outside of the BTCC. With the greatest of respect, he's more or less as high as he's going to get.

Some mega racing at Silverstone in the HSCC Super Touring Challenge races at Silverstone, although rain badly affected race 2 with several drivers deciding not to race.

Drivers involved included:

John Cleland
Patrick Watts
Adam Morgan
Tim Harvey
Paul Rivett
Steve Soper
Frank Wrathell (won Race 1)

This championship goes from strength to strength. Hopefully, they do get more BTCC support bill races

Hopefully the race was televised or recorded. Looks like a superb group of cars and drivers.

As for Wrathall, how much time did he serve? It doesn't seem long ago that he was jailed. I feel conflicted about him. A great driver with a promising future only to make a regrettable error that he has now paid for.

It should have been recorded. Massive grid of cars ranging from SuperTourers to cars from the 70s/80s. Great grid.

Thanks. That's 5 seasons in a row with an identical calendar.

There's not really much that can be done with the calendar, other than shuffling the order around. The tracks will always be the same so they might as well be kept in the same order for consistency.

Andy Wilmot has left Welch.

Don't blame him. So many issues with that car.

Oh for sure. It has been a few years since the season didn't start and finish at Brands. A minor change is good now and again.

It is a shame for Andy Wilmot and Welch but the Protons have been troublesome the past couple of seasons.

I just hope it doesn't clash with f1 so much next year, stupid when that happens.

I don't know much about British motorsport, though I love this series, but what other tracks in the UK, Scotland, etc. are suitable to host a BTCC race?

Or are you suggesting the order of the races on the schedule currently need to be shuffled?

I would like to see a new track at least added to the schedule.

Well there's Castle Combe but there's too many Nimby's in the area. Places like Cadwell Park probably aren't suitable, too narrow.

Just bring back Birmingham Superprix.

Pembrey was good while it lasted (20 years ago mind you...) but I'm not sure the facilities are up to scratch. Mondello Park but would be a suitable venue but I was never a fan of the track. Silverstone could host a couple of rounds on alternate layouts like Brands Hatch do.

Mondello Park tended to be boring.

Pembrey could be good, F3 last raced there in '99. I thought they ran more recently then that but the facilities couldn't really by that much worse.
