That's the first thing that popped into my mind when I saw the V8Supercars tag. Doesn't Alan Gow manage James Courtney? Maybe there's a link there.

My, we must be spoilt for drivers this year if we're turning our noses up at Alex Premat!

Premat is a "meh" driver. He'd bring nothing to the BTCC.

Le Mans Series Champion and Ring 24 class winner. I'd take him in BTCC any day.

Yeah and he won Macau GP and Zandvoort masters when in F3, and did pretty well in A1GP and GP2. I guess my point is he would be a step up from the likes of John George! Having said that, his tin top career isn't amazing so I'm not sure how quick he'd be in BTCC. Anyway, I guess this is all hypothetical...

Le Mans winner Tom Kristensen raced in BTCC through the 2000 season. I remember being excited to have him racing in England, but all he brought along was arrogance and some aggravation, plus a couple of odd drives. Tom didn't suit BTCC, or the other way around. In my eyes Premat would be the same.

Indeed. Here's a nice young gentleman (cough) who got the same sentence for breaking into a house....

Not even remotely close to the max 14 year sentence for Causing death by dangerous driving.

He was convicted of causing death by careless driving, for which the maximum sentence is 5 years.

Stop splitting hairs

21 months still isn't half of what he should have got.

True. The maximum sentence should always be given for any crime tbh.

True. But England doesn't have enough space in prisons now, does it? Although England would if cells were made smaller and less luxuries (like ps3s, etc...) we're allowed, but that's a conversation for another place and time.
