Simon Blecher is likely to be ruled out for the rest of the season. As already mentioned, his car is destroyed and it looks like he has run out of money.

Not really surprising. He said on Tin Top Tuesday that the damage would be five-times more expensive to repair than last year's damage was.

So I see there is a crowdfunding project now up and running to help Mike Bushell get his Focus back on the grid. While I think it is a good idea and hope Mike the best, I'm finding myself saying that through gritted teeth as really it is Belcher who deserves the crowdfunding. Simon was the real victim of last weekend's accident. While it was circumstantial accident, Bushell (and his team) were to a large extent at fault.

Mike has already secured the money to return. Anything now is extra money

Anything extra should go to Belcher, or even better perhaps the overall collection should be handed over to a Belcher.

I'm amazed Bushell hasn't received some sort of sanction for that. It was a ridiculous bit of carelessness.

Looks more likely Belcher will be back, possibly for Oulton - http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/119178

Yes the article is about Bushell, the stuff on Belcher is a single paragraph at the very end of the article.

Yes, it is now likely he will be back. Crowd funding helping big style once again.

He has posted photos on FB regarding new bits of car being painted.

Also, the SuperTouring guys had a bit of an accident at Brands last weekend. There are photos about of the 2 cars involved and it looked like a heavy old hit.

It was a head-on crash. Guy in an ex-Abt Audi spun and was hit by the ex-Neal Nissan. Was violent enough for one of the drivers to say that HANS device saved him.

Infiniti have apparently withdrawn from BTCC but Paras Racing will continue as an independent team.

Indeed they have. Apparently they had 'different expectations.'

I don't blame them. I wouldn't want to be involved with that bunch of amateurs either.

This also means we won't be seeing Martin Donnelly any more.

Infiniti should have gone in with Fortec or someone similar.

Interesting comment from Alan Gow on the subject:

"Perhaps we may also see Infiniti themselves return to the BTCC, some time in the not too distant future."
