Silverstone: "Hey guys! Let's make T1 really safe and turn it into a giant carpark!"
Other people: "Yeah man! Awesome!"

*a few races pass*

Silverstone: "Hey guys! Stop taking the piss and being lazy with your line into the first corner so you run wide and possibly sometimes either stay level with your opponent or gain a car length for some reason!"
Other people: "Yeah man! It sucks! Give them time penalties!"
Silverstone: "Good idea!"

PROTIP: If you want the cars to receive a time penalty for running wide at T1, REPLACE THE RUNOFF AREA WITH GRAVEL!

Then watch T1 turn into an actual braking zone and possibly another proper overtaking opportunity!

Even if they want to keep the tarmac, they could have a couple of metres of grass/gravel before you reach it. It would discourage people from going out there, or at least make sure they don't gain any time.

I've just been reading the BTCC forum topics related to the equalisation debacle. All I can say is.... wow 8O

Here's an amazing idea. Everyone has whatever they can build. If one team dominates, fine. I'd rather a championship like that then a manipulated one.

Doesn't work when you're running multiple rule sets though, which BTCC is.

I see Neate's getting into more arguments on Twitter. Apparently, him and Shaun Hollamby have had words after Neate caused £1000's of pounds worth of damage to the Golf and Will Bratt's annoyed at him as well.

Anyone not called Plato that isn't annoyed with him?

Alternatively, you could go into the BTCC thread on Atlas.

Plato doesn't hide behind pseudonyms.

Yes but JasonPlato surely can't be a pseudonym of Jason Plato?

Of course not, I'm just pointing out that those who wish to confront him have many ways in which to do so.

I might be interested, but alas I have a 1,000 page dossier of evidence to consume at some point later this evening.

We had that scenario in Sweden last year. It wasn't pretty.

Finally caught up on this from the weekend, Ginetta Junior race was easily the best of the weekend, there's probably a lesson in there balance between the cars...

Clearly there's something wrong when cars can start at the back and reach the lead, whatever TOCA have been trying to do to achieve balance, it's not working.

Am I the only one who thinks Andrew Jordan comes across as a bit of prick quite often?

Multiple rule sets won't be an issue next year. NGTC cars are all getting a boost increase, rendering S2000 cars uncompetitive.

Post subject:  Re: BTCC @ Silverstone 6th-7th October

Yes but that won't stop TOCA messing around with the boost levels between the NGTC cars, which it shouldn't be doing in the first place.

I don't really feel the need to go and shout down Plato on another forum because, really, what would that prove?

I would tweet him something hopefully constructive but not a cheerleading tweet, knowing him he'd take it the wrong way and blow up at me, and I've had my fair share of twitter spats with micro celebrities this year (Even made the papers! Iain Lee? Never heard of him! :p )

Besides, we've got a good thing going here at the minute, unfettered by either his cheerleading "Jason do no wrong" army or the man himself.
Rock the boat too much and some of them will show up here and ruin it all!

It's not even like we're particularly Honda fans that much, if Yvan Muller or Giovanardi showed up and regularly started sticking it to Plato, we'd totally be on their side too :p

But for great Justice, a Honda car must win this year's championship, otherwise the BTCC will look mighty foolish in the wider motorsport world.

More and more these days. The more of the hype he hears about himself, the more he seems to believe it. I'll grant you that everything he said about the bumbling clusterfuck of a chicane that is Andy Neate was 100% spot on but he's making a habit of bitching a lot in interviews these days.

Been away for a few days and just saw the races - it was like playing those arcade racing games on the Playstation where your car is inexplicably much quicker than all other cars, brakes much later and carries 20mph more through and out of the corners. TOCA must know this is a farce, the really disappointing thing is that they've just decided to keep doing the same thing all through the season to create the chance that Potato might win the least deserved title in UK motorsport history. If they do the same thing next year I'm not going to be watching it as predetermined results aren't for me.

This statement is absolutely ridiculous.
