Even though the Porsche race was exciting i managed to fall asleep half way through. It's just a natural reaction! :p Generally they've been really good this year with the bigger grids.

Decent days racing. Just a shame we didn't see any F-Ford or Legends.

Yes. I'm looking forward to race reports from Scottish member Spectators and racing drivers out on track for some of the races :p

I guess the people who film the Scottish Motorsport series for Motors TV had a word with ITV and said "no Legends or FFords plz" since we're the same core audience who will watch their show then if we'd already seen the action from this meeting their viewing figures would plummet to zero!! :p

I say plummet....it is probably hard to plummet from a ledge of about 5 people or so :p

Turns out ITV had the track to themselves, no other crews allowed on TOCA days. ITV offered to show the Scottish FFord and Legends Sunday races but wanted a massive amount of money for it. With the Renault, Ginetta and Porsche series television coverage being subsidised by the manufacturers they get shown but local supports don't have the money as the drivers would have had to pay for it themselves just as they do for the SMRC programmes on Motors TV, only those are obviously much cheaper. That's why you got a load of filler and tape delayed races on TV today.

Which is a shame as the legends final today was apparently one of the best races for a while.

Oh figures ITV would be demanding money...

Damn. I assumed ITV would be filming it for the company who shows the Scottish Stuff on Motors but didn't think they'd price themselves out of the market...

I guess that leaves a black hole in the scottish championship show then, a whole round that won't be covered :(

How were the FFords? :?

Decided to go. Got sunburnt.

All in all, a pretty decent day.

They might only want big money to show the races live, presumably they still recorded the races and won't charge very much to whoever makes the SMRC programmes for access to the tapes.

The A1GP supports at Brands weren't shown live last year, but eventually turned up in the regular highlights of the series that were there. Made a nice change to have the Lotus Cup covered by a decent number of cameras!

They didn't record either of the races - indeed, the film crews all went for lunch early after the first BTCC race while we were having our second race.

Hey guys, I was out yesterday and recorded the whole coverage to watch today, but being bored easily, which races should I avoid watching?

I'd avoid the two G50 races. 10 cars meant the field spread out easily and there wasn't much going on. All the rest are worth watching - even the Porsche races!
