Just when you think this series couldn't become any more of a shambles, they go and prove you wrong.

From what I read it was Chilton and RML trying to help Muller by getting into position to give him a tow, but instead RML called it off, Chilton backed off and yet the other runners just stayed behind Chilton anyway.

I'm not sure whether to ridicule Chilton and RML, or everyone else instead.

Chilton fined. Both he and Muller get 12 place penalties. Others getting grid penalties too. Coronel a 15 place penalty and 4,000 Euro fine.

Edit: Coronel says Tarquini hit even harder :tumble:

What a mess. Although maybe I'm missing something. I thought Chilton slowed down, not intentionally blocked people. Instead of slowing down and following Chilton, couldn't the rest of the runners had simply driven around him perhaps?

- according to Autosport, Tarquini received 6000 euro fine plus 12 place grid drop. Seems Nash escaped any penalty.

That's what I gathered from the autosport article too. Slightly confused.

According to Autohebdo, Muller, Chilton, Tarquini, Monteiro, Huff, MacDowall and a few others have been penalized.

With this new grid, it will be the craziest WTCC week-end since Pau 2009.

All the Hondas relegated to the back of the grid for an illegal rear wing.

I'm still confused. Maybe it's because I don't follow WTCC regularly, but from what I can gather the drivers fucked up by driving too slow and missed their qualy laps. End of. Why are they being penalised?

Usually with the WTCC it's best not to try and look for logic in their decisions.

For bringing the sport into disrepute?
