This is just plain fucking dumb in the pits. Amateur is the only way to describe it.

Eastern Creek is now to be known as Sydney Motorsports Park, and it contains 4 circuit layouts. A 4.5Km ‘Long Circuit,’ the original 3.9km ‘GP Circuit,’ a 2.8km ‘North GP’ layout and 1.9km ‘South GP’ configuration.

V8 Supercars are still undecided on whether to stick with the 3.9km GP Circuit run in the past, or to use the extended 4.5km Circuit.

Jonathon Webb drives the 4.5km layout in a Radical sportscar

That extension is like Bahrain in 2010, tight twisty nowhere to overtake.

Wow. Makes the hailstorm there when I was marshalling last month look pretty tame by comparison. I love Phillip Island and its meteorological mentalness though.

Tim Slade's Lucky 7 Falcon has had a livery change to coincide with a competition that's about to start up.

Don't like it; while I do approve of door numbers, it's far, far too big and makes everything else look small in comparison.

At least it has door numbers. It's the way it should be.

The new add-on for Eastern Creek looks great, especially for bikes.

Makes for a decent lap length for the new second circuit as well, which is the whole point of the new bit of track.

I doubt they extended the track for V8 Supercars seeing there wasn't even a round at the track until a month ago.

Plenty of series will be interested in the longer track, or the fact that the track has two tracks that can run simultaneously, and V8 Supercars may be interested in different options in Sydney if/when the government cans the Sydney 500 in a year or two.

WHY THE FUCK DID YOU BOTHER EXTENDING THE CIRCUIT THEN YOU FUCKING MONGOLOIDS.

Congratulations whoever runs EC/Sydney Motorsport park, you just pissed several million down the drain.

As garbo says, V8Supercars racing there had ABSOLUTLY NOTHING to do with the track getting extended or not

The extension was built, wholly and solely, for the second circuit so the lap length of it could be longer (the track can be split in two now and used at the same time)

The money has been very well spent. The only money pissed down the drain is the sanctioning fee they would have paid to host a V8 race they will likely not make any money off (especially as they decided to hold the race a week out from the popular Muscle Car Masters)
