He was the original anti-plato. And stood up to Muller too...

Why wouldn't you want him back? Just cos his misguided views about thinking the WTCC is worth racing in (and at the back, to boot), doesn't mean he isn't a great driver.
Another Champion on the grid would improve things immensely imo

Also he's probably never coming back, so it's pretty moot.

Plato and Neal are the BTCC and have stayed loyal throughout their careers. Thommo has gone from one crappy drive to another to prolong his WTCC career, following the money rather and preferring that than going back to BTCC.

I agree with you largely, but I think he has this issue with wanting to be paid to drive, rather than being a pay driver.

Something the BTCC can't usually cater for unless you're Plate-head or your dad owns the team....

It's been nearly 5 years since he last took a bit part forgettable role in BTCC, 7 when he was winning races with Dynamics. He can stay chasing pay cheques in mediocre series.

If we're fantasizing over drivers coming back and that actually care about BTCC, I'll go for Gio.

Good tast, good to see a ladder series champion get the chance in the BTCC (and his dastardly old rival kicked back to stock cars where his driving style belongs.
