WTCC got the Nordschleife. STCC has Skövde and Solvalla:

I'm still cranky over the "revolution" of 2012. In 2011, there were over 20 S2000 cars on the grid, and drivers like Rydell, Tarquini, Giovanardi, Thompson and Turkington. And big crowds to go with that. STCC was relevant. Now: pretty much no one. Some old stalwarts and unknown pay drivers.

thompson withdraw after qualifying, rydell missing due illniss, proteam missing due the issue with borkovic, münnich have a second car which will be entered for the next round(s). total of 6-7 cars less.

Nothing of note in the first STCC race, but the Carrera Cup race was fantastic! Amazing battle between Jocke Mangs and Johan Kristoffersson!

A bit sad this race, but the track has produced surprisingly good racing.

Fredrik Ekblom just did a rare mistake and splattered his car.

Thed Björk was dead last after the first lap, but he is surely going to win this. It's no competition. STCC has become a showcase for Volvo Polestar, no other team seem to take the championship seriously anymore.
