Lots of rumors added to first post. Not sure how many will come to fruition but it would be nice if most did.

Makes no sense for Honda to switch to a wagon the year they're launching the Civic R.

Actually it makes a lot of sense to swap. One, marketing purposes. Two, it's a brand new model. Three, Honda may have dictated to Dynamics this is what they want to race in the BTCC. Four, it shares pretty much the same platform as the Hatch so no major need to change it there. We also aren't receiving the Type R in Britain until 2015. The list could go on.

It is just a rumor and I don't expect it to actually happen.

Turks is taking a break before deciding what he wants to do, so don't expect an announcement util the new year about him, but from the sounds of it he is unsure if he is returning or not.

Honda are set to announce that Gordon Shedden and details of their 'new car' next month, with the new car set to be testing by the end of November. It seems that it will indeed not be the same car as this year and going by them being out by November the cars are actually or very nearly finished, so scrub that comment above about it not being a new car.

It is also expected that we will have a few more announcements over the next couple of months aswell.

From the sounds of it, and don't quote me on this it will be the new Accord that Dynamics will enter next year. Do not quote me on that though.

Reason that this may be possible? There is a new Accord coming in 2014 and sales of the car have not been great, so this may be a method increasing sales - the old race Sunday, drive Monday

Tom Chilton and his father should get involved in that project.

MG are confirmed (along with Plato, Tesco etc) for 2014. Looks like they may be expanding to 3 cars. No word on Sam Tordoff returning but I think he will and I think Tom Ingram may be there too

http://www.touringcartimes.com/2013/10/17/jason-plato-says-reliability-cost-them-their-chance/

Is it just me or is this all being confirmed really early for the BTCC. I mean that's 7 drivers and something like 12 cars already confirmed. In October.

That's not bad for a series that...

Quote:
...has been going downhill because of the domination of Honda.

...is lagging behind World Touring Car, DTM and V8 Supercars when it comes to competitive touring car racing.

...used to be a series that was fun to watch and close.

...is dying and needs some help.

All I can see is positive thing after positive thing coming out of the BTCC. I've even noticed greatly increased driving standards this year - which I think is more down to the improving young drivers coming into the series and by the sounds of it in 2014 too.

I'd agree with that, although you still get those people who discredit the series as being glorifed banger racing just because of one rough race.

It's good to hear about 888 expanding, the more quality cars in the field, the better. Tom Ingram definitely deserves a shot at touring cars as he's a very good driver, possibly better than Tordoff.

The racing was very clean this year. There will also be the odd controversial moment involving certain drivers that we are unhappy with and discuss, but this year was very good and a huge step up from 2012.

I guess there could be a few drivers not returning - when does Frank Wrathall's trial recommence, because obviously that will have an impact.

January.

Chris James seems to have bought the Dynamics Civic's and has signed a 'major sponsor'

Well, obviously Jordan only won the title as James wasn't competing - so his hand has been forced :p

Looks like the quota of fake Burberry caps and shellsuits in the pitlane will be going up again.
