Dan has had appalling luck this year, shame to see his season cut short. :(

Good to see Shedden back in though.

Thats terrible for Dan. The guy just hasn't any luck.

In other news, this may be a wet race meeting, looking at the forecast.

Depends who you look at - BBC is predicting light rain, but weather.com still says cloudy but dry.

Or it could be 30 degrees.

Which is kind of :) for Shedden but damn as Eaves had such bad luck :(

It strikes me as "We spent all summer trying to get the money to run a third car, failed now we've got to replace Dan instead..."

Which reminds me, didn't Dynamics say they'd be running a third car by now? :?

Shame that Eaves had to lose his drive but it's good to see Sheds back. And what is it with fat blokes and their knees?

There was a 75 minute go-kart fun race today near Snetterton. Colin Turkington, Robert Collard, James Nash, Harry Vaulkhard, David Pinkney, Stephen Jelley, Tim Harvey, Tom Onslow-Cole, Martin Johnson and Tim Bridgman were amongst the competitors but the race was won by Ginetta Junior driver Sarah Moore. She won by 43 seconds despite a 30 second stop-and-go penalty early in the race.

I reckon her being significantly lighter may have been a slight issue though. :p

Eaves is a better driver than Sheddon, imo.

Shame to see him go.

New sponsor and altered livery for Plato & Jackson:

Big new sponsor for Plato, Jackson

Major new car buying website MatchTheDeal.com will sponsor Jason Plato’s and Mat Jackson’s Racing Silverline Chevrolets for the remainder of the 2009 season…

The site will officially launch tomorrow (Sat 1 Aug) as practice gets under way for the latest round of the HiQ MSA British Touring car Championship at Snetterton in Norfolk.

Its title will appear on both Plato’s and Jackson’s cars. The site aims to give prospective buyers their best chance to find the vehicle of their choice at the price they can afford without having to haggle with experienced dealers.

Plato, currently fourth in the BTCC standings and also a presenter on popular motoring TV show Fifth Gear, said: “We all know how tricky it can be to buy a car; hours of searching, visiting show room after show room trying to find the right deal and, for many of us, negotiating on such a big purchase can be a very daunting prospect. Whilst the current economic climate may have assisted the shrewd purchasers amongst us, it can still be intimidating to seek the best deals available.

"It’s a simple concept that MatchTheDeal.com has created, but will be of a great benefit to all. It provides a cost-effective, time-sensitive solution to grabbing a bargain. And we all like to think we’ve got a bargain.

“And it’s great to see it in the UK’s premier motor sport championship, the BTCC – not only for the great exposure and coverage it will undoubtedly receive, but it also reaffirms that this championship is still a major player in the marketing field.”

Why are all Lacettis blue regardless of sponsor?

I don't think the sponsors will be tooooo happy...

Looking at the car you'd think Silverline is the big new sponsor...
You have to squint quite hard to see the URL...

Looks like they bought the leftover Avacado paint from Team 49 (or whatever they were called).

Just seen the BTCC is down to 19 runners this weekend which is a shame. Aside from Bell, there is no second Focus and McMillan is still missing (so he must have other issues because the engine one was sorted weeks ago).

For McMillan to still be missing after all this time seems to imply they wont be back - they did look kind of like they were running on a shoestring. Real shame as I like these little indy teams.
