Funny that Bigpond TV dissapeared from Wheels just as the V8 Supercars wake up again... |

You mean TVU? There were links to a stream over on the old tbk at Btahurst last year, if you could dig them up. CL fastest in first session: Code: 1 888 Team Vodafone Craig Lowndes Ford Falcon BF 5000 12 8 1:32.7693* |

SPOILERS QUAL A and B QUALIFYING DRIVER A Kudos to Steve Owen. 5th fastest, beating DJR regular Johnson, and series regulars Kelly, Skaife, Murphy, Holdsworth, Morris, McConville, Dumbrell, Thompson, Patrizi, and Todd Kelly who was pathetic in 25th. International imports are 26th (Hynes) and 28th (Neal). Code: L&H 500 - 2008 V8 Supercar Championship Series - Round 9 Radisich the best performed non-series regular coming 8th, worst performed D'Alberto in 21st but about right considering the cars ahead. Fabrizio was 23rd though he did block Courtney badly on one lap, but I'm unsure if that sort of incident gets looked at here, and Said was 28th. Code: V8 SUPERCARS - Qualifying Driver B |

Whilst waiting for the TV coverage to start I wasted some time doing this. QUALIFYING SPOILERS ALL DRIVERS IN QUALIFYING Ignore the last column. Code: 1 B1 888 Team Vodafone Jamie Whincup Ford Falcon BF 5000 6 6 1:33.3175* FASTEST DRIVER PAIRINGS Note if Courtney and Van Gisbergen were paired together they would be 2nd overall. Code: 187.0233 #888 Lowndes and Whincup DRIVERS BY TEAM Dumbrell is the slowest driver of the 4 at HSV, Owen outperforming Johnson at DJR, TKelly only 3rd at JDR. Some surprising results. Brad Jones is a fair way behind his teammates, maybe BJR should look at McIntyre for Bathurst given that he doesn't have a driver there yet. 1st number is gap from faster driver to slowest. Other numbers are gaps between each driver Code: HRT 1.2251 Tander 0.7341 Skaife 0.3905 Baird 0.0915 Seton |

Race Driver A has been run, I'll wait until the coverage has covered the race before I'll code them. http://www.natsoft.com.au/cgi-bin/resul ... 08.PHIL.R6 Format changes have been announced for next year, I'll post the articles in the Discussion thread. |

I really like that, I was sceptical, but it was very entertaining, and we still have the 500km to come tomorrow. |

Yeah I didint find it too bad actually, was some good racing.. although the one pitstop in one of the races idea is stupid and should be thrown out. Why a pitstop in a 14 lap race! |

I think I'd have preferred a format for the two races where the two qualifying sessions = 1 time for the position of the first race. Then the finishing position of the first race dictated the grid for the 2nd. Incorporating the pit stop requirement for just 1 race then I think it would have been quite interesting that way. I didn't mind the format, though, and I look forward to tomorrow. Was nice seeing Owen get a podium in Race 1. |

Top 10 shootout is back next year!!! I do like the format. Its like the Daytona 500 with the Gatorade Duels. If a driver makes a mistake (Tander), then their weekend is compromised. Looking forward to the race. Want to see a big crash and a surprise. I DON'T want to see the '06 Sandown 500 all over again. |

I thought the 1st race was boring, but the 2nd race was quite good, especially between Courtney and Ingall. As for the format, I'm not keen on the one pitstop between the two races. It should be no pitstops or compulsory stops in both races. As for the prevoius post, what was so bad about the 06 Sandown 500? Sure, it may not have had big crashes, but the racing was pretty good, and the finish was amazing. Unless you pressed the wrong key and was meant to say last year's race, in which case I agree with you, cause that race sucked. |

They should ditch the pitstops from this 'qualifying race' business In race 1 we had a good battle between Lowndes, Winterbottom & Kelly, which was spoilt when two of them pitted, letting Rick sail away into the sunset Race 2 was a snoozer I'm no real fan of Top 10 shootouts, but that would have been a better alternative... PS...what was Dean Canto thinking early in Race 1?? |
