So the Camaro's filled the first 8 spots and 11 of the first 14 spots

There's some weird shit going on. Ford are questioning why the Chevy's are so fast, the Chevy teams are accusing the Ford teams of sandbagging.

It sounds like the Camaros are getting a fair bit more engine ballast added (they're running pushrod engines vs double cams for the Fords) and they've also still got one aero test to do, so even though it's two weeks out the cars still aren't fully finalised.

As far as the results go It was raining on and off and the top 6 cars were all BJR and Erebus cars. Jack Smith and Macauley Jones set faster times then Shane Van Gisbergen, and the fastest Ford was Todd Hazelwood. So it seems like T888 and DJR probably weren't at full pace.

seems like the biggest thing that the Ford teams are wanting figured out is involving the gear box mapping from what I've seen reported

no doubt there's sandbagging from both the main teams tho

more video - can really tell the difference between the Chev & Ford sound wise here

The Super2/3 entry list for Newcastle is out with 29 cars, 20 of which are the ZB Commodores and Mustangs that are now making up the outright class. For the first time in the history of the category there will be no Ford Falcons on the grid but there are three Nissans that will be running in Super3.

The first practice session of the new era is in about an hour and 15 minutes. There's a further two more practices before they go into qualifying/the shootout and then the first race tomorrow.

Whoever designed the new graphics package should be shot. White letters on a grey background in the timing tower.

There was already a red flag earlier as I tuned in which I missed the reason for

Currently red with less than 5 to go with someone up the escape road who has already been spinning at t3 and knocking wingmirrors off.
Annnnnnnd, it's over.

Xpert commentary right here

*EDIT* add the highlights showed it was Seaton nosing into the tyres that was the first red, not toooo much damage, hopefully

I'm pretty sure they redesigned it only last year, don't know why they did it again. Especially since the new design sucks.

The timing tower is better for the main category, you can at least see the car #.

I think they've dropped just about everything from their streaming lineup, they didn't have either of the IGTC races on their site this year as well. Also got a larger pool of bidders now as well.

Should be interesting to see what happens next week with WEC, as it's on still on their TV channel
