Wonder if Crompton will commentate the IndyCar this year.
He said that last year he couldn't be bothered talking about it (CCWS).

Yeah well Champcar didn't have lengthy brake pad pit stops for him to get his techincal boner over so it's no wonder really...

Matty White would have to be in there too somewhere.

Brings up an interesting side-point, will Matt White be back with the V8s next year know that he has been confirmed as the new host of Today Tonight??

Obviously he'll continue in the dual role for the rest of this year as it was a late call-up, but will 7 want him to keep the V8s or focus on the news side of things?

That's a pretty big if, because Today Tonight ratings are vital for Seven, and if ACA starts beating them, then they'll put a new host in.

It's just not the same without Paul Page flying out of the waterslide at his hotel Saturday morning :(

We've rarely had a 'normal' wet race there, its either pouring or its dry.....

Agreed, but perhaps thats the point, they will want him to concentrate on the News & current affairs issues to get him known & respected for that side of presenting, rather than the sporting side (which he can always go back to if it didn't work)

One of the CC drivers will win it for sure as the main IRL drivers don't know the track. The Dallaras will be great round there and I've always loved rolling starts on street circuits.

How many cars will there be in the field as CC had 17, which was too small?

If any of the IRL drivers are in with a chance, its either Helio or Briscoe.

The field was limited to 24 cars because of travel constraints, but no Milka Duno or Marty Roth, which is a good thing, but no Paul Tracy, which is a bad thing.

Actually some IRL drivers have been here before. Dixon, Franchitti, Kanaan, Castroneves all of who were extremly quick. When Briscoe was there in 05 he went a lap down early on but was very fast towards the end of the race. So this could be a very exciting race :D :D :D

Well as a local, the past week has been wet weather with not much sun at all... So there is a chance of rain if it stays like this. Personally i hope it doesn't rain, because this year im not in a hotel so i have to walk around it seems.
