Is that an actual Renault effort or what? Quite nice. Anyone plan on running it?

It's not an official entry, but there is some very good money behind it apparently. There are 2 cars that have been built by RML. No plans to race yet although from what I have heard to cars have been testing and are ready to race, so we could see them at some point (although the 32 entries are taken this year remember)

Hope they don't go the way of that Rouse Corolla from back in '98.

That was stymied by Toyota in Japan though, wasn't it? Shame really, as it looked like a great car. I wonder if Rouse Engineering still exists. It would be great to see him return, although completely unlikely.

I'd have bet money that Scuderia Vittoria were the team behind the Megane, obviously that's not the case.

EDIT: It appears that it isn't even an NGTC car, just a car that Renault are selling.

Weirdly I was thinking about the calendar earlier today. I'd like the calendar to be a little mixed up. For I don't know how many years now the calendar has stayed in identical format year after year. Brands at the start and end, Silverstone just before Brands, Croft ends the first half with Snetterton starting the second. Needs to be refreshed. Silverstone should be the opener again.

I think it's been 10 years with the exact same calender now (bar adding/dropping/adding again Rockingham and saying goodbye to Mondello park) pretty much.
Certainly don't think there's been that much change during the Motors TV/ITV4 live era.

I also have it on good authority Brands holds their dates to ransom with the BTCC (IE give us two races, first and last races of the championship or you're not getting the GP loop ever again) so they'll always either open and close the season or at the very least open the season and be the penultimate round, or be the second round and the finale.
Think there's a sorta maximum time clause between the meetings that must be obeyed because: Palmer.

Personally I'd love to see Mallory Park and Castle Coombe on the calender but I doubt that's ever going to happen.
I know they have fuck all to do with a pitlane but it's not like we run pitstops in the race any more.

We'll probably have to wait for that Welsh track to be built before there's a chance of anything new coming along.

As for the Megane: meh. I prefer my renaults with short wheelbases thank you very much! :p

I have emailed him recently and it seems it still exists but he is not involved in motorsport.

So, copying and pasting last year's calender took so long, why, I wonder?

Let us just assume the BTCC calender will be exactly the same every year from now on ;)

Because identical or not, dates and times still need negotiated. Circuits have many series to accommodate.

Alan Gow actually said that the reason for the continuity as it helped with the rebuilding of the Championship and provides stability for the teams as they move to and work with the NGTC regulations.

Alan Gow regarding new entry rules for 2014

"As advised to the teams some time ago, we are modifying the entry process for next year. This will provide the current teams with surety over their present entries, as well as an opportunity to increase their entry by one car - providing that the additonal entry meets certain criteria.

Those eligible current teams will 'pre register' in November/December, after which we will then know how many new entries will be available to take the maximum entry size to 32.

These new entries will be awarded on a first come/first served basis.....but only after we have first validated that their proposed entry meets our criteria for acceptance."

Do all of the current tracks on the calender have the garage space to support 32 cars?

I know that theoretically even Knockhill can accommodate 32 cars in the pitlane since the recent pitwork so I'd imagine all the other circuits can.
