The Moto2 race has been reduced to 13 laps because of tyre wear.

The MotoGP race has been reduced by 1 lap to 26 laps and the riders have to pit at least once in the race.

If it's an exciting race, I expect mandatory pitstops next season

It's not just a pitstop but a full bike swap. First time they would have done this in full dry conditions I guess? I assume there will be a pit window?

Yes kals, they can't pit before lap 12 or else they will have to pit again since Bridgestone can't guarantee the rear tyre beyond 14 laps.

But I thought there were no spare bikes in MotoGP as part of a cost saving exercise? Or am I getting that confused with WSBK?

That's SBK probably as we've seen them change bikes in MGP due to mid-race rain once this year or last.
