his MotoGP titles count for superlicense points? He could ask Red Bull for a spot in AlphaTauri

And they could fire Kvyat again and therefore get Max a victory. Win-win!

I wonder how he'd do on four wheels. Hell, people bitch about Hamilton's numbers in F1, but Marquez's numbers in MotoGP especially last year makes Lewis look like an underachiever. (Of course, I'm well aware they're two different disciplines of motorsports)

Even more so when you consider nobody else does particularly well on the Honda. It would be like Lewis winning even more in the Renault factory team.

Marquez performance reminds a lot of what Loeb did driving for Citroen

To me inherently more impressive because in F1 so much depends on the equipment. 80% car/20% driver, in motorcycle racing more like 80% rider/20% bike.

The Honda is fast but only Marquez seems to be able to ride the damn thing. Reminds me a bit of Ducati when Stoner was there. No one else managed much on that bike except him.

Although, Nakagami has shown some form on that thing. The factory HRC guys are no where.

Amazing race today though... Again. Maverick is a lucky boy. Moto2 and Moto3 races were better than decent too.

Yamaha 1-2-3-4, Maverick on pole from Morbidelli. Feels like semi-normal (post-Marquez) service is resumed

Yeah, he missed the race which he was supposed to start on pole.

Meanwhile Quartararo has fallen in MotoGP race and Vinales has dropped behind the Suzukis. So much for a Yamaha 1-2-3-4.

so, is still possible for Marquez to return, win all the races left and capitalize on the randomness that is the championship while he's away?

Yeah, if this back & forth struggle continues there will be loud calls that Marquez's absence really crowned a weak champion.

It's maybe exciting for fans but can't help to think about some of the old Alzamora vs Vincent battles that weren't exactly vintage in terms of actual overall performance.

With Marquez gone & Ducati blowing up the works squad Quartararo and Vinales should walk away with the championship but of course they won't.

Another first time winner. This is wide open

Marquez would piss all over this field tbh.

Anyway, Morbidelli wins, Bagnaia 2nd and that should seal the works Ducati for 2021 esp. he was robbed of a podium this season already.

Mir passed both Rins and Rossi on the last lap after Rins couldn't pass old man VR46 for like 15 laps.

Marquez can stay gone for all I care. Don't get me wrong, he's absolutely amazing, but what we have now is far more entertaining.

If Marc was running the Championship would probably be wrapped up by now. I hate that he had to get injured to be taken out of the equation, but yeah, the show is better without him.

Wild start. Aleix, Rossi and Binder all down in separate crashes
