To be honest I'm still hoping India will get cancelled later in the year. Having the season finale at a big, soulless circuit that nobody will go to doesn't really appeal.

Liberty Racing's website hinted that some sort of announcement was to be made today, but nothing actually appeared. I'm interested to know who would be naive/desperate enough to take a place with them; Lorenzo Lanzi turned down the offer, Jakub Smrz is looking for a ride but probably wants a team that won't fire him at a moment's notice and Brett McCormick has temporarily retired.

So that leaves Noriyuki Haga (the obvious first choice) and Mark Aitchison, who are the only other high-profile riders I can think of who currently don't have a ride.

Well it turns out that Mark Aitchison has taken their offer and will be appearing at Aragon on the Liberty Racing Ducati.

First qualifying at Aragon just finished:

Code:

4   33  Marco MELANDRI    BMW        1:58.944   0.396   13
5   65  Jonathan REA      Honda      1:59.060   0.512   13
6   50  Sylvain GUINTOLI  Aprilia    1:59.144   0.596   18

11  91  Leon HASLAM       Honda      1:59.599   1.051   15

20  8   Mark AITCHISON    Ducati     2:04.169   5.621   14

Camier crashed early in the session and brought out the red flag, he's currently in the medical centre. Ducati are struggling but they were way down at Phillip Island as well until the end of qualifying 2. Honda seem to have sorted some of their electronics issues, for Jonny Rea at least.

edit: Camier injured his knee in his crash and might be unfit to race.

That was a pretty dramatic race. Gutted for Sykes and especially Laverty who made the effort to go back out there and finish 15th but failed to score a point because he didn't complete 75% of the race distance.

We now have the unlikely result that Sylvain Guintoli now leads the championship by 20 points, ahead of Eugene Laverty and Chaz Davies. Can't wait for race 2!

also i now post full race results on my website so go and look at it please, tia

What is it with British riders and mechanical problems today? Sam Lowes has just broken down on the last lap of the Supersport race while leading. Foret inherits the luckiest win ever.

Third round of the championship this weekend, at Assen. Same entry list as Aragon, 20 riders on the grid. Leon Camier is intending to ride, depsite having shattered his knee only two weeks ago, but Damian Cudlin will be his replacement if he's declared unfit to race.

Lots of injuries already this season. Hopefully Leon Camier is going to race on Sunday.

A few big crashes during the Superstock 600 race at Assen today.

The footage is from a HD satellite feed and has multiple audio tracks.

Will not post information about those involved so i do not spoil it for those who has not seen the race yet.
