That's what I mean. He's won 40 of 104, but all of those 40 have come in his last 72 starts :)

Plus he's won at all the circuits this year that usually suit Yamaha.

I get you. I didn't see your use of the word 'last'. He's incredible. And Stoner always he believed he was the god of MotoGP. I'd actually like to see Casey return, so Marquez can give him an attitude adjustment!

Not a fan of Stoner, but I would love to see him return. He was faster than Pedrosa and would be around the same speed as Marquez.

I think Lorenzo is also from the same class as Marquez, he just doesn't have his year or bike this year. Pedrosa, dunno he is great, just not 'it'. Rossi is past his prime.

In moto2 I don't see any superb drivers. Moto3 maybe Fenati, Miller and Marquez.

I would like to see Stoner go against Marquez. Lorenzo's performances this year are utterly perplexing. Pedrosa will now never win a top class title, unless he quits and does WSBK.

Lorenzo apologises for his performance

Not often you get a rider being that open about why he was slow.

I wonder how Marco Simoncelli would have run against Marquez. Its safe to assume that it would have been those two on the Hondas when Stoner retired. Marco was starting to develop nicely and was getting rid of that collision-prone attitude.

Simoncelli was a slow learner, always was (not like Maquez instant succes). But once he found his rythm he was unbeatable. And sadly the races before his death he showed his massive potential and consistency on the Gressini. I bet he would be up there with Marquez.

Simoncelli would have been a winner and arguably would have replaced Pedrosa at Repsol Honda before now, to partner Marquez. I don't know how he would have performed against Marquez as none of us expected Marquez to perform as he has done. All I'm sure of though is that Marco versus Marc would have been a great fight to witness.

Question.

Why does the Assen GP take place on saturday, instead off sunday each year?

Was asked (and answered) on the page 11. But here a official piece on that from the motogp website.

Quote:
Today the circuit is just 4.542 km (2.822 miles) in length but still retains some of the original corners. Traditionally the Dutch TT has always been staged on the last Saturday in June and is still one of the biggest sporting events of the year in Holland. The race weekend in Assen begins on Thursday with Qualifying on Friday and the race on Saturday, as it was originally frowned upon for the race to be hosted on Sunday for religious reasons.

Nowadays it isn't due to religious reasons anymore, but just to keep the tradition.

And during the test this turned out to be a bad idea.
They're now looking at adding some banking to that turn for 2015.

Anyway, Marquez during practice...

Lots of riders down on the opening lap of the Moto3 race, including a fight

Niklas Ajo got a ban for pushing another rider after crash a year or two ago. The same can be expected there.
